I'm hoping that NXT season keeps the same light hearted mocking tone that season 3 had. If it was not for the banter between Josh and Cole the show would not have been anywhere near as watchable, never mind the essential viewing that it became.
I hope they don't now try and take season 4 seriously just because it is the men's turn, because A) That would be disrespectful to the Woman and B) more importantly it won't be anywhere near as entertaining as it has been.

It's one thing to treat the women's version as silly. I mean I'm not a fan of it, but it really doesn't matter. If they intend on having any of these guys being taken seriously though then they should treat the upcoming edition in the same manner. Otherwise the upcoming crew is gonna find it very hard to get over in the future as anything other than comedy fodder.

I'd laugh if they generally treated it as silly, but then always got deadly serious whenever G-Rilla was involved.

Needs to be 10x more silly, What could possibly be gained from putting over young new talent when you can mock them endlessly for and hour everyweek.

Serious NXT seems to be much more fun with unintentional hilarity like "If you're gonna win. . .make it a win!" and Riley inexplicably attacking Percy Watson during the Season 2 beat-down!

Serious with the exception of discussion on Jacob Novak. Unstoppable ripping on him.

The first season was serious. The second was half serious/ half comedic. The third was over the top. I want this season to be entertaining and mantastic.

Really silly. As silly as NXT Season 3 was. The dozens of NXT fans demand it!

Serious. I still dont get why the WWE doesnt have their own version of The Ultimate Fighter.2 WWE Superstars coaching 2 teams of 4 wrestlers, you have the potential for all kinds of gimmicks and scenarios, you see footage of them training and interacting, to the point where characters are created and remembered (this happened with Josh Koscheck, Forrest Griffin, Chris Leben et al)An 8 man bracket is created, and you can book all sorts of matches in between with the guys from the Raw/SD lowercards, but the bracket matches are the main event. Sell it to the fans that these guys are important.
Losers get eliminated, and the final 2 fight each other on the season finale. It's also a good way to build up tension between the 2 pro's that carries over to PPV.Dont just put 6 guys out there with a bunch of lame challenges. Build them up as competitors, give them real exposure so people know who they are, make people think "This guy vs that guy would be an awesome final" or "I wanna see this guy win the US title from that guy".
Some promoter (either Heyman or Cornette) said that Dana White is the best pro wrestling promoter in the world, only he calls it MMA. Dont be afraid to borrow from MMA. They did the same when wrestling was the popular one.
Or you know, we could go back to "HUR HUR COLE HAZ GONG LOL" "BOTCHED PROMO BECOMES FORCED MEME LOL". People complain about guys not being built up as stars anymore, but watch trainwreck crap like NXT season 3. Im not sayig that will happen with the men. Im just saying they should try to do soimething productive with this set o rookies. They salvaged the first season after it ended, and the 2nd season had Kaval who was ready to go anyway, but guys like Lucky Cannon, Titus O Neil and Eli Cottonwood, who all have no business being on WWE TV.

The tournament idea is perfect, because it'd make the winner seem far more deserving of the title shot they get.

The tournament idea is perfect, because it'd make the winner seem far more deserving of the title shot they get. It also builds a healthy midcard feud by using 2 guys who linger in the midcard as coaches that can progress into a meaningful feud. If I were WWE Id watch pretty much every season of The Ultimate Fighter and take notes of the most interesting parts. That series has produced so many MMA household names its unbelievable. Forrest Griffin has 2 books published.
