Taylor Wilde or Terry Taylor? Somehow I think it would have been worst losing Terry Taylor. It would have felt more like the ship is sinking, the rats are leaving.

I think a key difference between WCW and WWF (in the past) which also applies to TNA and WWE (currently) is that the WWF/E always tends to disregard a wrestler's history before they joined the company. When you go to McMahon, he treats you by and large as an unknown commodity and builds you from the bottom up, more often than not successfully.
For the greater part (although not always) TNA treats former WWE stars as just that; STARS who have previously proven themselves elsewhere (Kurt, RVD, Jeff etc).
While this may be understandable to a degree, they have also shown on occasion that they can take former WWE wrestlers who the company failed to capitalise on (Matt Morgan, Pope, Mr Anderson are all examples) and turn them into valid "TNA talent". The problem then arises when they come to handle their "own, homegrown" talent. They frequently fail to push these guys with the enthusiasm that they have for pushing pre-existing stars - Anderson, Pope, Morgan especially could (and arguably SHOULD) all have held gold at this time, instead of floundering around while TNA tries to decide if they are "worthy" of being champions.
Again it all points to the frequently observed issue that TNA has with it's own worth - can we give one of our own the key position in the company and let them run with it? The answer is usually - maybe, but not yet.
I'm fairly sure that TNA will put Matt into a high profile position from the start, simply because they see him as a big deal purely because he is well known from his WWE tenure. What they need to do imo, is to then capitalise on this by putting him into a high level feud with one of their own existing World Title contenders.
Losing Taylor, while some people feel this isn't such a big deal, simply highlights the above points imo - we now have a Knockout's title scene that in recent weeks has been dominated not by the championship or the champion (she IS there in the mix, but in a minor role) but by two "Knockouts" who both are arguably better known from their associatons elsewhere.

Do people think it's a shining beacon of morality? Of course not, I don't think anyone thought that. I think most people think it's a business, nothing more. Apparently I did, at least I did the last time I had words put in my mouth for me.

With all these knockouts being let go, they've gotta be looking to expand soon with some new talent in that field. Losing a bunch of people, but the only additions being Winter and Mickie? Sure those are good, but I think you need more than 7 people to split 3 belts. Maybe Christie is unretiring from the ring?

No, just no TNA. It's a waste of money. What's next Carlito, MVP, and Shad? Why do'nt you call it WCW and admit you can't run a company Bishoff? Tired old WCW comparison that just plain doesn't fit. Did you know that WWE hired WCW castoffs and made them into stars? Almost like hiring wrestlers most known in a particular company isn't a bad thing... There's a difference between hiring old stars occassionally and ripping off every f***ing thing WCW ever did, good or bad.

Matt is no Booker T. And Booker T didn't have a memorable TNA run. So I'm skeptical.

They're bringing him in just so they can charge $20 for polarids at house shows.

But Booker T was marketable, could talk, and had main event street cred. Hardy isn't bad, but he can't talk and he has that 'below the main event' stigma. So I'm not sure what TNA can do to get him over. Especially as the logical feud with Jeff Hardy has been done before, and I'm not sure Matt Hardy can sell himself as a sympathetic babyface.

I'm not too bothered about Taylor leaving. I was at the iMPACT after Victory Road 08 (when she was being pushed to high heaven) and when she entered, the booing was ridiculously loud, and during the match there were loud "Gail Kim" chants, despite her not even being in the match. When I watched the show of that week, During her entrance, the only sound they put through was the commentary, and her (overdubbed) theme music.
Another thing of note during that broadcast, if anyone gets it, is that I'm visible breifly when Brother Ray trys to steal my hat during 3D's entrance. If anyone could make a gif of that, I'd be happy.

Matt just wants a main event title. And the smarks will love him in the Impact Zone. Then he will turn and be heel with Jeff, and ZOMG TEH HARDY BOYZ ARE HEEL!
Part of me wants to see the Angelic Diablo character given a go, but only if he comes with a Lita cardboard cutout that he yells his promos at.

If this is the Matt Hardy we get, I think I will be in danger of dying of laughter each week.

WHO from WWE have TNA taken and made into stars besides Matt Morgan and maybe The Pope (who looks to be headed for a major decline anyway)?
