The Sharpshooter and the Scorpion Deathlock, Bret Hart and Sting. The two most known and popular users of this move. When it comes to this submission move who do you identify with it more? Sting or Bret Hart.
Seeing how Sting was my favorite as a kid and my favorite of all time. And he was the first person I ever saw use this move so I always identify it with him BUT, for years I always call it the sharpshooter unless talking Sting. Go fig.

after all the ways that Bret and Owen reversed it when they faced each other it will always be the Sharpshooter

I was, at heart, an NWA kid. Scorpion Death Lock for me.

Sharpshooter. I was never a big Sting fan, and always a huge Bret Hart fan.

Death lock, particularly the way Sting turned his opponent over with the big arm swing and struggle.

Sting, because when I was a mark, I was a WCW mark and rarely watched anything WWF related.

When Bret applied the Sharpshooter it looked like he clinched it in a lot tighter than when Sting slapped on the Scorpion Deathlock. Sharpshooter for me. Especially when Bret found creative ways to apply the move.

Even though I was a bigger WCW fan back in the day, I always preferred the name Sharpshooter.

Scorpion Deathlock all the way. The move seemed almost custom made for Stings gimmick. Also Sting had already made the move popular in the US years before Bret Hart ever did his first Sharpshooter.

Scorpion Deathlock is a cooler name, and i was a huge sting fan back in the day too so ill go with that...however how it was done, i actually preferred Owen's style of doing it over Bret or Sting

Isn't "Scorpion Deathlock" the actual name of the move? It makes more sense because of the look of it. I think "Sharpshooter" was WWF-specific because of Bret Hart, while it was "Scorpion" or "Scorpion Deathlock" whenever someone else used it outside of WWF/E. "Scorpion (Deathlock" all the way for me.

Didn't Sting first use the move? Even though I am used to calling it the Sharpshooter, I think he was even using the move before Bret did. I think Bret started using the move when he went singles.
