It's a shame that it got moved for slow ticket sales... having WrestleMania at the LA Memorial Coliseum would have made for some freakin' awesome visuals.

Couldn't find anything for Wrestlemania's 2, 25 & 26 (1 was closed-circuit - no PPV.).
Also, due to changes in PPV availability, etc., Wrestlemania 23, The Trump Angle, is technically the highest bought WWE show in history.

The change in venue was necessary, but likely had the benefit of having a higher proportion of paid house than usual. For a weaker-than-average card it was the best possible outcome, especially with Hogan chasing a lame-duck champion against a dated storyline (Desert Storm was winding down at that point.) Savage/Warrior was a far better main event idea and would have closed the show but for Hogan being there and continuing to drive merchandise sales. I think it was likely at this point that Vince and company started thinking about a post-Hogan WWF, though they didn't have the courage to stick to that scenario until 1993.
