Okay, you all probably get this question all the time, but what is so awesome about this show? Isn't it meant for like 5 year old girls?

Okay, you all probably get this question all the time, but what is so awesome about this show? Isn't it meant for like 5 year old girls? I think nearly everyone who posts in this thread had the exact same thought as you at the beginning. I know I sure as hell did. I only gave it a shot to see what all the fuss was about, and once I got over the fact that it wa My Little Pony, I found it was a really great show, that had some genuinely laugh out loud moments, likable characters, memorable music and fantastic animation. Though I must say that what's really impressed me is the fanbase who are by far and away some of the most creative in terms of works created. I recommend you give the first episode a watch to make up your own mind. If you like it, great, there's an entire season of a well-made show for you to enjoy. If you don't, that's fine too, but at least you gave it a shot.

I apologize for being THAT guy but are you all (the grown men, i mean) really fans of My Little Pony ? is this a meme or something you really enjoy ?
I think i may be just old now but i have a tough time imagining a bunch of straight grown men really getting into this.
The Canadian that i am, wants to apologize if i piss anyone off for these comments but i'm just confused. Me needs to know what's going on then i'll let you all carry on and i'll bugger off this thread.

Yes, we're all fans of the newest show. It's actually damn good.
The show's writing is solid enough that it's really good for all audiences. It's actually funny, and despite it's roots, it's a really solid show.
Here be an example

Okay, you all probably get this question all the time, but what is so awesome about this show? Isn't it meant for like 5 year old girls? I've liked cartoons since I was young enough to have an excuse to watch them. I was a huge Powerpuff Girls fan, I watched Kids Next Door, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. It was just another cartoon thats clever. <3 Give it a try. We have guys that like it, I'm a girl that likes it. My boyfriend Jake watches it, my sister has seen a few episodes. Its a likable show. =) Go watch Feeling Pinkie Keen, and come back to us. We will welcome you into the herd. <3

Though I've always been one to like animated shows and films, even when I should have "out grown them". That's one thing I kinda hate about Western society. At some point you are expected to out grow animation. It was Japan being the inverse of this that made me even love that country in the first place. I just love animation period. To the point of honestly being more excited for animated films than most kids are....

I've always loved cartoons, and still do. Some are better than anything else meant for people "my age." I had the same thoughts as most people when someone suggested I watch it... and I kept putting off actually doing so. When I did, I found it was actually pretty well written, and even being an adult there were moments that I thought were very funny.

Shutting off the containment grid would be like dropping a bomb in the middle of the city.
