I was wondering what the wwe.come pun would be. They went with "Punk and Black Attack" Wow, they didn't even try with that one.

I honestly thought Nexus was going to remove their shirts to reveal SES shirts.
Anyway, WWE will retcon things somehow. I believe it was mostly Bryan who attacked Punk in the original beatdown (though others attacked Gallows), so maybe they can write off that plothole by just mentioning that. And maybe even inserting Bryan in the whole angle somehow. Also, they still have Tarver, Sheffield, Young, and the NXT S2 rookies to play around with, if they want. There is potential, and I am optimistic that WWE won't totally blow this.

Some thoughts:
A)This is the only credible way you can get Punk to compete versus Cena. Punk spent the majority of 2010 jobbing to damn near everyone while having one of the best gimmicks in the company, which is a rare feat.
B)Son, I am disappoint over the lack of drops about this by the writing staff. Per some interviews with Trips recently and other randoms, Punk/Cena had been planned for some time (at least since he took over commentating, if not a LOT sooner). Obviously not at the beginning when Punk was trying to help Cena from the initial onslaught, but for the past couple of months, they could have had little things to look back on to point to when this moment arrived. I dunno, something straight-edgy done by the Nexus boys to reflect their leadership (as I'm hoping the SES aspect of Punk doesn't subside from this new angle). It would have been nice to "put together the pieces" even ignoring the first week or so. Hey, Eric Bischoff got power bombed off a damn stage and a month later he was their leader. It's not like you can't work yourself out of that...
C)As sadly echoed on these boards already, the major MAJOR problem with this angle is it involves John Cena. This is the same reason people don't attend many games of the Yankees vs the Royals. You pretty much know the end result. Back and forth, etc, etc, Cena crushes, the end. If WWE was going to pull the trigger on Cena decisively losing a feud, they would have done it with Nexus v1.0. And we see how that went. I am no Cena hater by any means. I will state matter of factly he's the best performer they have in the company bar none and I'm never upset to see him on my television. However, his invincibility cheat code is getting tiresome.
But hopefully, this revisiting of the Nexus will allow them to start wrestling more matches (as the roster is getting very thin) to start establishing them post-Nexus. Barrett had his matches, and Gabriel/Slater had a couple mehs. It's time to start getting the boys some real ring time to start developing them as the stars of tomorrow. Maybe not main event stars, but stars nonetheless.

But I marked when Punk put on that armband. The armband has no cred left. This would be like if Hogan had waited till the NWO split and joined the black and white with Horus Hogan.

I'm guessing Wade fits into this and says that the bigger picture has been Punk all along. I know, it's lame, but I'd rather not have Barrett as a face right now.

As i said Cm Punk now = General Zod.
KNEEL BEFORE PUNK!!!
Seriously all the the nexus need now are dog tags and long black trench coats , some females and they will be.
They already got the feud with superman going and got the arm bands come on now.

Like someone said, I'm pretty sure Cena will be forced to reluctantly team with Barrett.

The crowd didn't seem to really care. But the crowd doesn't care about a lot of things these days.

I wonder if Joey Mercury will be allowed to join Nexus also I am for all for the idea of Barrett creating a new competing heal stable.

Get ready for Smilin' Wade Barrett!
He hi-fives the fans WWE universe on his way to the ring, and even gives a tube of hair gel to one lucky youngster at ringside.

Very clever, opens alot of possibilities.
What happens with Barrett?
Is Punk using the Nexus? Is Punk the leader? Is Punk the GM even?!
Is Otunga the new leader of Nexus? Will Barrett return to fight against him with his own faction? Or will Barrett end up being a part of the bigger picture down the line?
Alot of possibilities, but it's still predictable and lame apparently.

As much as I hated the systematic destruction of Nexus at TLC, it was necessary to put each of them back on a level playing field, force them to regroup and come back stronger than before. Barrett was "holding them back," they can say. Punk will allow it to be about the gang mentality rather than "having a bunch of guys to do his bidding and get him a world title" like Barrett was doing. This is basically the most credible way they can possibly bring Nexus back into power. They regrouped and they're now stronger without Barrett. Addition by subtraction. It's brilliant.

Hate it. It brings Punk down instead of elevates the other guys. Eh, It cant make Punk look any worse than being completely dominated by Rey/Big Show for a combined 6-7 months

"I'm done with WWE," "Punk is being buried by Cener," "Why doesn't Punk have every single championship imaginable?," "CM Punk is every God of every religion, Cena just sucks."
These are a few of the many quotes that will be uttered at the end of this Cena-Punk angle.

Probably because Nexus Phase 1 had a lot of possibilities too and ended up with the usual "Cena makes everyone look weak." outcome and the WWE basically doing everything wrong from one step to the next and making it bland and obvious. Why have any expectations that this is going to be any better? Until the WWE proves us wrong, why not have doubt?

I'm glad some people are excited about it, don't get me wrong, Diffstrokes, diff. opinions, but not everyone IS gonna like it. I hate the idea; just my view. Hell for me if anything it's more the take of ' MORE of this?' Sure some won't share that, but that's the way I see it.
