saw he's actually from switzerland and a great student of CC. And use the ricola bomb. It be pretty effective, and harder to mess that up.

I don't get what's wrong with the Wasteland.
You want to talk bad finishers, did you see Byron Saxton's yesterday on NXT? Wow.

Why not give him the spine buster as a finisher he has used it before

He ought to start the move out like that but transition it into a sitout powerbomb. It'd definitely add some more flavor to the move, at least.

Wasteland is a good finisher, and it does look like it hurts...its better then the peoples elbow as a finisher (i know the rock also had the rock bottom, but really how many matches did he use that in after 99?)

I think it's fine. At least everyone remembers exactly what his finish is - it could be worse, he could be using a move like Shelton's before he was future endeavoured, or Ziggler's Zig Zag. Or whatever it is that Heath Slater does.
Basically, as much as a finisher needs to look impactful and like it would legit keep you down for a three count, in this zany world of 'sports entertainment' a finisher that is actually memorable, for whatever reason, is more important. Case in point, Edge's spear. As a heel, it worked perfectly for him because everyone remembered it because it was considered to be nothing more than a running hug. Notoriety irritates people. Cena's FU/AA gets a lot of flak too, but you won't forget what his finisher is.

What is the "next level" for Wade Barrett, anyway? WWE Champion?

Id be annoyed if he got a new finnisher at this stage, it fits him perfectly and has a great name and looks like it would bloody hurt. Id like to see someone whos complaining about it take this move!

Hey, where did the name Wasteland come from anyway? (I keep thinking Epic Mickey but I don't think he'd be that much of a dork- still though, that'd be funny). I like the move. It wouldn't hurt to have another one- maybe a nasty-looking submission or something.
I think if he's goona go to the next level, creative needs to stop f***ing with his storyline. Let him be for a bit. He has the potential to be a smarmy jerk heel or a likeable anti-cena.

I'd like to assume it's a reference to T. S. Eliot, but I'd doubt it. Still, if anyone's likely to be referring to modernist literary classics, Wade is a smart cookie.

The only problem I have with powerbombs or the Wasteland is that he shouldn't be doing it to big people. He needs a move that can hit anyone. Or at least a second finisher.

I like the wasteland. It has more impact than an AA, Angle slam or an Edge spear.

The Wasteland is fine, the set up for it can become iconic like that of Cena's AA and the Pedigree. What he needs is a secondry finisher/signature for bigger guys, something like the Mic Check or they could hype his Big boot like Test, or give him Regal as a mentor and give him the Regal Stretch.

I always thought of Wasteland as more of a reference to The Who's Baba O'Reily. I have no real reason to justify that other than the fact that he is British, and The Who is an awesome British band.

I like The Wasteland.
Barrett's a big guy. Him lifting someone up on his shoulders and slamming them down again looks like it could hurt.
I would like to see him adopt the Walls of Jericho as a secondary finisher/signature move which he occasionly wins with.
Nobodies using the Walls now Jericho's gone, might as well let Barrett use it since he was Jericho's rookie on NXT.
