Was it ever explained how he survived? At the live show, did they show him being cut down and carried off by druids? Or did paramedics take him away? Or did he just walk away? I know on the PPV they went from Lawler screaming "Get him down!" to Michael Cole saying, "The Wrestlemania Rage Rave was awesome last night!" and then they went to clips of that.
And how was it explained on TV when he returned? I know he did return shortly after, rejoining the Corporation and then sticking with them when they merged with the Ministry of Darkness...
Anyway, just watching my Anthology of Wrestlemania this week at work because it's slow, came across 15, and had that question...

The same way how Alice Cooper fakes hanging's in his concerts. A harness underneath his shirt.

I think what the OP is asking is how did they (WWF/E) explain Bossman surviving a hanging in kayfabe. You don't just hang there and recover once you're taken down.

Mustve been his harness, and that is still the most f'd up thing I ever saw as a kid on WWE TV. I was 10 at the time, and when you can convince a ten year old that something is f'd up, you are out of line.

Since it was the Attitude era, I'm surprised they didn't have Bossman do...*ahem*... self-gratification while hanging there.

I think it was just never spoken of again. For good reason. Nobody liked it, the match was poor and having a moment like that happen is just disgraceful and awkward. It's just a shame it happened at Mania of all places. What's really funny about it though, is that the 3-disc Hell in a Cell DVD compilation put out had every HIAC match to date on there when it was released... except Bossman/Taker.

Another thing I didn't get about Kurt Angle. The guy was disgusted by the Sandman/Raven angle with the crucifix but had no problem coming into the WWE after I'm sure he saw Taker hang Bossman and Taker crucify Austin. Oh well.

If I remember correctly, it was touched upon after in the sense he was pissed the Corporation had left him.
He came out to challenge them in the ring to his "Hard Times" music, I marked, then he hugged them and I sighed...

As someone who ordered that show they certainly didnt show how bossman got down or show him getting carried to the back. I guess he just disappeared with the HIAC after "passing out." It was briefly mentioned on RAW by Shane when the ministry was beating down and abducting Ken Shamrock and Shane held the corporation back by saying it could be a trap and he looked at bossman and said look at your neck you've been through this. That's the last I remember of it. If I remember correctly, it was touched upon after in the sense he was pissed the Corporation had left him. He came out to challenge them in the ring to his "Hard Times" music, I marked, then he hugged them and I sighed... Nah man that was after KOTR when The McMahons got control of the WWF back.

What's the story with this? This was actually an idea? I don't know. That was the first time I had seen it suggested, but it just kind of feels right you know? Plus when was the last time a wrestler rode to the ring on a horse?

I believe the WWE wants us to forget that match as much as a certain someone.
And deservingly so. This was a garbage match that had a really stupid ending. "Crucifixions" bother me, but showcasing a lynching, even if it was set up to avoid injury to Traylor, was just horrid.
Really sucks that this is the only Hell in a Cell match to be at WrestleMania.

Whatever the case may be why the match wasn't included, the WWE did us a favor and not included it. It didn't have to include the post match stuff that happened, but the match sucked as a whole for one thing. Even I thought that the part with Bossman being hung was in bad taste and I was only 12 at the time.
Plus, with Bossman's real life death, I think it could also be the case why the match wasn't included.

If this match isn't on the HiaC DVD, is the Kennel in a Cell match on it?
I remember being intrigued by the idea of the match, but yea... Although, I still do think that a cage in a cell could be a cool thing. Just with, you know, better wrestlers, and no dogs...
