I'm sure we have all seen the video of Sting explaining why he didn't wanna go to the WWE during the invasion.
Was he right though?
Would he have been treated like a jobber and have to "pay his dues" much like Booker T did?
Would he be eating pedigrees, stunners and tombstones on a weekly basis like the rest of the Alliance?
Would he have ever been treated like a legit star?
Although Booker became big and was able to salvage his credibility and still get over despite booking, it always seemed like he was treated as inferior.
The WM 19 match, the fact he was never a real main eventer on Raw and the fact he never held the WWE title and was given the "secondary" title on Smackdown.
How would Sting have been treated by Vince?

It would have been similar to Goldberg. He'd win matches but they'd likely have not understood how to book his character to look and be strong.

Honestly, I donnot think that Sting would have been buried at all. But, then again they did ruin the WCW angle.

I doubt they would've gotten away with booking Sting like they did Booker.

I mean, WCW was invading WWF territory, and him being the face of WCW, it would be difficult to book him as a heel considering he was such a huge babyface throughout his career(I'm purposely negating that half-ass heel turn he did in 1999).

I don't know.
Frankly, I doubt it.
He was every over in WCW. Maybe if he debuted in like 2003, he would've been big.
I just wish he would stop holding back and atleast sign a legend's contract with WWE. Seeing him in a WWE ring would be awesome.

i think he would have been up there with RVD in terms of strong strong face reactions from the crowd despite being in the heel group. if he were there, the top 3 faces would have been Sting, RVD, and Rock....i dont think he would have been buried, i think he might had a 2 - 4 month world title reign. i think it would have been interesting to have him around when Vince brought in the nWo

His gimmick was far too over with wrestling fans. He would have been pushed on merch sales alone.

I'm not exactly speaking on the invasion angle but his run in the WWE as a whole really. For example if her were to show up in 2003 perhaps. HHH wasn't around for the invasion, you're right...but he still buried Booker at WM 19.

I doubt he would be buried, as he was a much bigger star than Booker or DDP. He would have gave the angle some credibility and made a much better leader for WCW than Austin did. Everytime he is mentioned in WWE dvd releases he is spoken of very well.

I believe that Sting would have been brought in as THE top dog, with immediate title shot and legendary legit pinfall or submission victory over a big name. His run would have been for a few months minimum. It's actually a shame that we never got to see it, because great moments in wrestling are referenced time and again.

Sting would have gotten a nice push IMO.

I think Sting would have been fine. I still hold out hope he signs with WWE sometime in the future. Even if it's just for a HOF deal with an appearance at Wrestlemania. They may even be able to convince him to come in a month or two before WM or stick around for a while afterward.

That video seems more like Sting not understanding The Rock's character more then anything. From what I've heard, Vince wanted him for years, so I'm sure he'd have gotten a good push.

they would have made him "pay his dues" before pushing him like Sting See, conventional WWE wisdom says that to be true, but I honestly think he would/will be pushed like the star he was/is.

I think to some degree Sting would've been buried simply because of his status as a WCW legend. When you look at how poorly they used DDP, Booker T, Kidman, Raven, Steiner, and so forth you can't help but see the pattern there.
Sting might've received better treatment as far as his character is concerned. However, look at how they booked Goldberg and that's how Sting would be booked. Instead of making him a silent badass they would have him participate in lame skits, lose to lesser opponents, and so forth. I do believe Sting would've been buried absolutely.
If Rob Van Dam, Booker T, DDP, Kidman, Raven, and Lance Storm could be buried then what would make Sting exempt?

Yea, Booker T may have won a bunch of championships, but Sting was THE face of the company. Ask someone about WCW and the first two names they will say are Sting and Flair. There is NO comparison between Sting and the guys you mentioned.
