didn't they do a drug test one time, and like 90% of the roster tested positive for recreational drugs? could you source this, please?

Everybody but Shark Boy. As far as I know "Clam Juice" doesn't contain any drugs.

TNA's current and previous world champions are known drug users.

Why exactly DON'T they have a wellness policy? Simple.....They don't HAVE to. The company is privately owned & we are not privvy to thier records as we would be to a publically owned or traded company. The only reason "Wellness" is ever brought up is the staggeringly high industry-wide mortality rate, history of Substance abuse, and associated issues therein. Given the normal "High Risk" nature of the job, allowing any sort of mental impairment is a liability. WWE realized this and implemented thier wellness policy "(in my eyes anyway) as a gesture to show that, they're an enterainment company....comitted to entertaining people and keeping thier talent in good physical shape and getting rid of the Druggy/Boozing/etc image of Carny-Style Wrasslin' so we are counting marijuana as a drug? For the purposes of most testing.....I'd assume so. If it's presence would get you disqualified from employment....it is (for the sake of this argument) a "drug" Sadly this includes but is not limited to - Marijuana - Non Prescribed Narcotic Painkillers - Narcotic Painkillers with an invalid/expired script - Poppyseed Comestibles (Certain overly sensative tests will ding "True" in some cases) - Any Recreational use of Presription Medication That should leave little wiggle room and be considered "fair" at least for the sake of THIS argument.

I don't like to be the one accusing people of doing drugs... However, I'm fairly certain we can all agree that Brian Kendrick would be f***ed. And Rob Van Dam. I'm pretty sure WWE usually just gives heavy fines for marijuana use, they don't fire or suspend people for it most of the time.

That was a couple years ago now, and a lot of those people are no longer working for the company. 2. I believe of the 90%, something like 50% of it was just failures for pot. The number didn't look nearly as bad once they took the pot failures out of there, still not good tho.

I never quite understood drug testing to begin with. In real sports you take drug test basically to make sure you don't cheat. In wrestling you can't really cheat.

And they stepped it up because certain wrestlers offered to pay off a years worth of 'infractions' in advance, so they wouldn't be bothered.

If TNA had an enforced wellness policy I think I'd enjoy iMPACT a lot more than I do now.

imagine cm punk in the impact zone cutting the greatest promo ever on 80 percent of the rooster. "You're a turkey!" And since that would surely skyrocket TNA's ratings, they'd be willing to make it a weekly event, so we'll be getting weekly greatness.

The Cm punk call out hour , every week he calls out a new wrestler does an epic promo beats them then proceeds to the next one . Were talking 2.0 2.2 ratings brother.

It seems more like a pr move than something that is really needed... With the number of drug related deaths, it is something that is needed. As for why TNA doesn't have a policy, they haven't been ripped by the media for not having one. Right now they're not a big enough company for the media to tear into them for not having one. It may be an asshole thing to say but I think until they have to face that media backlash, they won't do it. Hell, the WWE didn't have one till Eddie died.

People can hate on the WWE's wellness policy and claim loopholes or whatever, but at least they have *something* in place to curb drug use. Now, Im certianly not saying that it's flawless, but it does seem they're at least trying to fix the problem.
The fact TNA doesnt have one shouldnt fly under the radar like it does, private owned company or not.

Regardless of the impact on a wrestler's health, first and foremost, we're talking about illegal substances.
