So, I know one. A 12 year old that is. And I recently found out he's allowed to watch horror, which he loves.
Anyway, any suggestions on what movies to borrow him?
Just don't say the Shining. He might wanna watch a movie or two with me and that one scares me.

The Room. Tommy Wiseau will definitely scare him (especially that scene with his ass towards the camera).

The only horror films I've ever enjoyed are The Shining and the Thing. And you said no Shining, so, The Thing.

The Thing is an absolute classic, and in my honest opinion, shows why practical effects kick CGI's ass in most cases.

Show him the same horror movies we all grew up with.
Old Don Bluth movies.

I thought this thread was going to be about a gym teacher with wine coolers.

I showed him the Thing. He didn't like it. As in, it was too scary or it bored him?

I showed him the Thing. He didn't like it. What horror films does he like? If he doesn't like The Thing of all....things...then it is kind of hard to just randomly name off horror films.

Show him the same horror movies we all grew up with. Old Don Bluth movies. This could work.

Most kids think horror means slasher films. I'm sure he'd love Saw or something like that.
I always like psychological horror myself. The original "Omen" was scary, and is The Exorcist. Although my all time favorite, even though it's mostly suspense, would be Psycho.

I think Psycho was the 2nd one of his movies I saw, and I still love it.

Show him Roger Corman's Edgar Allen Poe movies. The Raven. The Pit and the Pendulum. Masque of the Red Death.
Every one a classic.

I showed him the Thing. He didn't like it. Hmm, fair enough. I guess he's more a blood 'n' guts horror fan then. How about Hostel? Going a bit off topic but I just want to add that the blood test scene in the Thing is my favourite movie scene of all time......... I'm going to go watch the Thing tonight.
