I don't know if anybody's awake at this time, but here in the US right now, ESPN Classic is showing the Bulls' first NBA Title win against the Lakers, which happened 20 years ago today. What's surprising about this is that I didn't know that ESPN had the rights to show old "NBA on NBC" games, so it's a nice surprise to see this game on ESPN Classic.

as far as the draft goes, I hope Klay goes to a team with cool jerseys. Like the Blazers!

21 years I've been waiting. I really started watching and actually understanding what I was watching, the Mavericks when I was about 5 years old.
I went to countless games at the old Reunion Arena when they were just a pathetic excuse of a franchise. But I loved them regardless. My dad held season tickets with 2 other people for the 94-95 season, so I went to many a game to watch the Three J's and company.
The last 10-11 years though may have been even harder then the 90's though honestly. Always being "in the hunt" but never quite getting over that hill. Finding horrible ways to lose playoff games or series', or just always running into a team that at that particular time was just a tad better.
I thought in 2006, there was no way that it wasn't our time. After a 2-0 lead in the Finals, I didn't see any reason for concern. The next year, winning 67 games and dominating, that HAD to be it. But still we have nothing to show.
Tonight's gotta be the night. I want it bad. I've waited my whole life for it and I want it. Please, please don't do it to me again.

I hope the Mavs win (although I'm a Spurs fan and I'm putting my bitterness aside), but if they lose the series I'll probably be laughing at how badly they will have choked.

I will say this... this series has been the perfect end to these playoffs. It's been awesome, every game you felt that, at the last two minutes, either team could win. You don't feel like anything has tainted it, you don't feel like the true championship was a previous series (even though the whole playoffs have been awesome), and you feel like this is definitive.
This has been an absolutely great postseason to be a fan.

At this point, I want this series to go to 7 games. I don't care who wins anymore. This series has been so good that it deserves a Game 7.

Announcer: It's taken 21 years, but the Dallas Mavericks have finally reached the mountain top!!
(5 days later, David Stern comes out)
Stern: Congratulations, playa. Now folks, who here would like to see the new NBA Champions defend their title against Kobe and the Lakers...right here TONIGHT?!
(crowd cheers)
Stern: Then it's on. Holla!
(Lakers go on to beat the Mavs and win the NBA title)

Just in case this is the end and I forget to post it later Whether Miami wins or not, that is the greatest thing Dan LeBatard has ever done.

I want Miami to win the series, but Im not really bothered either way. It's been such a good series. Ditto. I'm all behind Miami here, but I want Jason Kidd to have a ring for what he did for my actual team for six seasons, and Dirk is a great guy and worthy of being a NBA champion without a doubt. This won't be like Kobe winning #6 or the Spurs boring 49 states as they pursue another title. I can deal with Dallas winning. I really hope Miami has two wins left in them though.

I am of a similar viewpoint. I picked Dallas to win the NBA title all year, but I can live with Miami winning. (In contrast, a year ago, I truly could have cared less who won the NBA Finals, but I went with the Lakers barely only because I picked them to win 4 games out of 7. Other than that, I didn't have a rooting interest. Normally, when two teams I'm not fond of play head to head, I use the "lesser of two evils" theory. Not so last year.)

There is nothing I want more than a Maverick victory tonight.
I just can't see the Mavs taking game 7.

For Miami to win tonight, Wade HAS to take over in the 4th quarter. Hell to be honest, in the fourth, I'd feel more comfortable with Mario Chalmers taking more shots than LeBron.
If LeBron isn't driving to the basket, he shouldn't be shooting.
