To be fair, Galactus hasn't been in Fantastic Four for ages, and even Doom has been absent for like 18 months in that book.

I know never to trust solicitations and the like, but, still...: And even worse, the cover shows Booster tending to an (apparently) dead Jaime. To quote Miz: Really? REALLY!?

NO!
F***ING NO!
WHY?!?? F***ING WHY?!?!?!?!?
Oh, wait, this is DiDio-run DC. I know why.
BECAUSE THEY'RE GONNA END THIS BY BRINGING BACK TED KORD, OF COURSE.
And yeah, that's just bullshit speculation, but after Hal Jordan and Barry Allen, you just KNOW it's coming.
God damn it.

Unlike others, I'm perfectly fine with the way Ted died: Standing defiant and staying true to himself in the face of temptation, even as others mock him.
With that said, this "Jaime is dead" nonsense is utter bullcrap.

With that said, this "Jaime is dead" nonsense is utter bullcrap. Didn't stop 'em from bringing back Hal Jordan and Barry Allen despite their deaths being great moments in comic book history. But Ted Kord..........come on. That's one of the ones they just shouldn't touch. And Jaime Reyes was one of the best new characters of the decade. But nooooooo........everything's gotta go back to the '80s! I mean, s***, I'm still surprised Kyle Rayner's death didn't stick, to be honest.

Considering they killed the Ryan Choi Atom recently, things aren't looking good for Jaime. Ugh.

on the other hand, all the Thing merch Marvel's putting out is making me think that Ben's going to bite it (again).

Hoping it's a swerve, I was really hoping Max Lord's big comeuppance came from Blue Beetle himself. Also I highly doubt Ted Kord is coming back for two reasons, one more agreeable than the other. 1. The supposed "revolving door of death" is closed so "no one can come back" 2. Ted Kord was featured in Booster Gold recently and Booster sort of made peace with it all, it was written by the same team that does Generation Lost so I assume that they won't screw up THEIR own stories.

So the death hasn't even happened yet? ...this is how little Fantastic Four matters in the current day. I don't even know where the event is or what's going on. As for Jaime dying...honestly, I think they had to tell us he's dying in advance so we could emotionally prepare ourselves. Springing something like that on us as a surprise...I'm a little scared to think about how some people would react. .........worst part is, that's not even completely sarcasm.

Then again, Marvel's {Spoiler}running a storyline in their Ultimate imprint, which blatantly spoils what happens: The Death of Spider-Man

Jaime wont die.
1) the beetle wont let it;
2) Johns likes the character too much and is both using him in a Smallville episode and pitching a solo series for the guy.
Ted Kord is returning, but this is DC, they happily have 5+ people with the same name running around, so why not 2 beetles?

There was actually a fairly long article in today's Philly Daily News about it. They're even going to the old 1990's "black polybag/no newstand" route with it. They were really trying to sell that whichever member dies is going to be dead for quite some time...but considering they said that when Steve Rogers died and Spidey unmasked....

Just need to wait and see if it beats out the two years Reed was dead in the 90s

I would figure he'd be either too young to die yet, or he would still be used in popular culture, but there was also Cry For Justice and Final Crisis for both reasons. On a different topic: When did Alan Scott turn into Whiplash?

Am I the only person that picked up the Larfleeze Christmas special? That thing was great. Truly, Larfleeze is poised to become DC's next big thing.
