The problem I have with the new Firestorm is the way I see it going due to those two writers. They are total political opposites; the two regularly debate on message boards about those sort of things.
While they may get on fine, I hate when things turn into soapboxes, especially soapboxes for American politics, being that I'm not American and truly dont care about your politics.

Wonder Woman has a very promising duo working on it.
Supposedly crime novelist Duane Swierczynski will be writing Batman. Hmm.

Yes. We shall see.
The Wonder Woman artist actually draws her Greek. That's different.

Will the current Blue Beetle survive the Big Restart? It would be a shame for a great character to get passed over.

Duane Swierczynski is underrated as hell and I bet his Batman will be awesome. DC needs a guy like him to do a grounded, classic take on the book while Grant Morrison does whatever crazy thing he's doing in Batman Inc. (note: crazy does not = bad in this scenario).

Alright well forget what I said.
Still why relaunch green lantern when the story is just picking up a few months later? f***ing dumb and I usually defend DC to the end but f***.

No doubt I'll still go out and pick up the monthlys when the change occurs. No matter what they tend to do I still like guys like Superman, Flash and Green Lantern.

Or what? Yeah, the USA Today article flat out admitted that Jamie Reyes and the current lesbian Batwoman were being kept around just for the sake of "diversity"

Ah, Diversity.
Never thought I'd have to thank that for something, but if it means those two get to stick around, huzzuh!

Damn it. I f***ing HATE Jamie Reyes. I want Ted Kord back. I think there is a decent role for both to play. It doesnt have to be a one or the other deal, DC more than anyone loves their legacy characters. Or did. It does seem that the currents powers that be there are more concerned with certain status quos than others. Now, just to try and make this thred a bit more positive, let's try and list 3 things from Flashpoint that we'd like to see: 1) Jim Corrigan back as the Spectre. Spectre has been useless since Corrigan was written out, and the current Spectre has done absolutely nothing. A new Spectre series as one of the 52 would convince me to buy another DC book. 2) James Jesse back alive, back as the Trickster, and back trying to find a spot between hero and villain. Some interaction with Deadshot would be interesting if they ever reference his death, and similarly with Pied Piper considering their bromance journey. 3) Amanda Waller back in power. Since the stuff with President Luthor and then Checkmate, The Wall needs to show she is large and in charge again. Be it taking the Secret Six and making them into a new Suicide Squad, or by simply launching a new Suicide Squad, Amanda Waller needs her bitch back.

Those aren't really spoilers. It's news that you'd see on the main page of any comic book site. That being said, I'm stoked that Bruce is going to be the only Batman. What people need to understand is that Batman isn't just some costume people can put on. Batman is Bruce Wayne's true personality, and was born out of his specific tragedy. He is the only true Batman there can ever be. Also, I couldn't be happier that this looks to be the end of Grant Morrison's five-year reign of terror on the Batman franchise. Damian I could go either way on. I hate Grant Morrison and still hold bitter feelings towards him for getting Tim Drake booted out of his role as Robin, but I can accept it if they make Damian less of a little prick. Barbara Gordon as Batgirl again is a HUGE mistake. She built a large female fanbase as Oracle, and was also a strong, independent handicapped character. All this talk about keeping around Jamie Reyes and Batwoman for the sake of diversity, and they take away a popular character in a wheelchair. Brilliant.
