Wait, Killing Joke would have happened, yet Babs can still walk? And Damian's still ten with Grayson being an adult? How's that work? And Tim Drake still became Red Robin without ever being a part of the Bat-verse. Want it all explained? Gotta get the comics in September. *rubs his temples* Well, getting a theory from another site, if Batman is supposedly only 4.5 years or so into his "Batman" life, Dick does it for 2 years, Todd is only for 6 months, Tim drake is there until recently ousted by Damion. So, Batman went through Robins.......like Batman went through Robins.

Oh, the logic of DC right now makes my head hurt.

Gotta get the comics in September. *rubs his temples* So the original announcements have Tim as a Blogger-Turned-Superhero, but now the September solicits that came out say, "Batman's ex-sidekick steps out of his shadow," and stuff. SO, now I don't know what to believe. One of the things that appealed about Tim was that he was really a lot like Dick and Bruce rolled into one. He was cold, calculating, brooding, and extremely intelligent (probably the smartest outside of Bats when it comes to deduction and planning) but still had the jovial, human side which gave him some of the best relationships in comics. His brotherly relationship with Dick was one of the best written, and his friendship with Conner really reinforced my liking for my two favorite DC characters. Edited to break up the massive WALLOFTEXT

I like him (When written by Johns)
Mind you Geoff Johns seems to as well, so I think he'll still be around.

I still have no idea how DC expects us to buy that in the new status quo this stuff has only been going on for about 5 years. 10 years I'd buy, but 5 years is a REALLY small timeframe.

The only one I'm even MILDY interested in is Suicide Squad, but that's because Harley and Deadshot are two of my favorite characters, and, if the solicit is anything to go by, they're getting screwed right the hell up.

I quite like the sound of the mystic stuff, and I'll follow Booster around, but as I've said before, in general this reboot will lose DC money in my case because I shall drop various things and dont really have the interest to pick up the new books when they're changing alot of characters I already enjoyed.
I get they want to bring in new readers and be less scary with big numbers and such........but I dislike that they are just throwing away things I enjoy to do that.

It's a lose/lose situation for them. They may not be the majority, but this move WILL drive core readers away, and the people that aren't reading comics won't know or care anyways about a reboot. It's just pointless.

So, reading the website "DC Girls Kicing Ass" (and I have no idea why. Honestly, any kind of "Women Centric" site both disinterest and interest me. I can't explain it. Feels like I'm spying on an enemy camp or something) and reading the interview that while the reboot will happen, not everything goes full reboot. So, books like Batman and Green Lantern, along with Green Arrow, will have little or no changes. Even though a lot of the separate books they were tied with (Birds of Prey, Red Robin, Batman & Robin, Batgirl, Sirens, JLA, etc.) are all changing their continuities and shifting casts around.
So, instead of just a full reboot for everything, it's a pick and choose reboot. Which seems really half-assed.
And all this, cause pretty much all the DC titles lately didn't break 100,000 copies sold......

Yeah, and look at the titles that get a pass on the full reboot.
If I worked for DC and my work was being retconned away while certain other writers got to keep their work intact, I'd be giving Marvel a call

I like Geoff Johns and his work on GL, but for it to be spared anything major and anyone that doesn't rhyme with Ratman that was written by Grant Morrison to get flushed is... troubling. I'll be interested to see if this takes and just how long it may last. Honestly, losing the Superman marriage and shelving the JSA (no matter how much the book may suck right now) is really pushing it for me.

I wonder how the JSA characters will work in the new DCU.
I read somewhere they are wanting to promote Superman as the oldest hero and the catalyst for the arrival of others, if that is the case, considering how many of the JSA are presented as old WW2 vets and what have you, will they all get totally new origins or even ever show up again in the confines of the new main DCU?

I'm positive the JSA will resurface eventually. they probably just need to think of a way for it to work. honestly I see "Superman was the first superhero" as a mistake of the same magnitude as "Superman was never Superboy and is the ONLY survivor of Krypton".

Well, we shall wait and see. The JSA are favourites of mine, and while their origins dont matter all that much at all, if they aren't old guys with experience, they basically aren't anything.
So, despite Eobard's unrelenting optimism, take that away from them and it's a big stretch for them to be anything else
