And if you don't like Tracy, He'll come to your town and commit mega mass bloody homicide. Which means that if you have something bad to say about Tracy Smothers, don`t say anything at all. Even if you are in a sound proof room, keep your damn mouth shut!

Tracey Smothers was with the Full-Blooded Italians in ECW around 1997-98. "From Nashville, Italy." He made it work. Great worker; I think his look held him back from even greater heights, but he was a fine competitor and worth a mid-level push.

He's wrestled all over the promotions in my area, there is even an opportunity for me to commentate on one of his matches in the coming year, which is unbelievably exciting.
And has already been said, awesome worker, extremely underrated and a really nice guy if you don't cross him.
Also, namedropping a touch, I've been out for drinks after shows with him twice and I could listen to the guy tell road stories and shoot the breeze for hours on end and not get bored.

There aren't enough positive adjectives to describe how transcendently excellent Tracy Smothers is, in pretty much every way. I'm glad that I didn't get on here and see anyone burying him, because he's tremendous. One of the top 10 most awesome people I've met being apart of the business. I love me some Tracy.

As much as he gets crap hes a very intelligent guy...I used to hang out with him at IWA MS shows...He even had an internet smark gimmick for awhile where he had a manager that had a laptop that would check the dirt sheets to give him advice...Guys hilarious

"Just to let everybody know, if I hear "redneck," I'll come out there and slap all 57 of you!"
"If I hear "redneck" again, I'll come out there and slap all 34 of you!"
"Damn it, if you say "redneck" one more time, straight up everybody dies!"
Tracy Smothers is great. I thought the Southern Boys/Pistols were a great team, and if they had came about a few years earlier they'd probably be better remembered because they would have had more opportunities for classic matches.
I got to see him live quite a bit with SMW, and getting to meet and get autographs from him and the Rock n Roll Express was a high point during my 5th or 6th grade year. He still pops up on local indies from time to time.
He's one of those talented guys that just never got a break to match.

Really does sound like New Jack looked up to this guy, especially from the shoots.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't he the one who challenged JBL after the Blue Meanie incident? One of the things I've loved about him is that he seems so light-hearted. From his "Nashville, Italy" gimmick, to the dance-offs, he just seems like a guy that doesn't take himself too seriously and likes to have fun. That said, my understanding is that he's not someone you'd want to cross. Wasn't he having some mental problems a couple years back?

His ex-wife, who he's still on pretty good terms with taking in all accounts of things was concerned he wasn't taking his anti-depressants I believe. Nothing seems to have come of it though fortunately, so it might have been crossed wires or something that got sorted quickly.

Lance Storm has a hysterical Tracy Smothers story.
Whenever SMW(I think it was SMW) drew a bad crowd, they often blamed another local event, such as a football game. "Cowboys are in town, can't compete with that" etc (Paraphrasing here.).
Anyway, Trace Smothers would apparently joke "McDonalds is open 24 hours a day. We can't compete with that."
He also had this to say about his toughness:
"Tracy is certainly a tough guy. He is like an old pick up truck, after the first dent the rest don’t matter. I think in a fight you’d have to kill him to get him to stop fighting. "
