I've heard Chris Jericho is actually 5' 8" but wears lifts in his boots to make him seem taller. I'm 5'9". If I get into wrestling, I'll have to find out from Jericho where he gets his boots. That's if it's true anyway. Daniel Bryan said he was 5'8" on the Wrestling Road Diaries dvd and they bill him as 5'10" on WWE.com.

An interesting note that falls into this category, is the way WWE actually listed Christian as being shorter and lighter than he actually was during his debut. If I remember correctly, he was listed at around 5'10" and weighing under 200lbs so he would be a better fit in the cruiserweight division.

Andre the Giant's height has long been a controversial issue, as it seemed to vary markedly over the course of his career, but he was almost always billed as being 7'4" or 7'5". In reality, during his prime in the 1970's Andre was about 7'0" tall. I say that because when he came to the Memphis promotion during that time he was matched up with Plowboy Frazier who was about 6'10", and Andre was clearly taller. (my father was a jobber in the promotion at the time and witnessed this) Further, Andre let his hair grow in the '70's, which stood straight up and gave him the appearance of being considerably taller. The top of his hair at the time probably was 7'4"-7'5". Unfortunately, as Andre aged, his physical ailments caught up with him and he actually lost stature thru several knee, back and hip operations. Finally by the late 1980's, it was hard for him to stand upright, making him seem even shorter. Here's the thing I've always read though..... I know that Andre had acromegaly and it was never cured. There was something about Andre's look that just seemed a little off, and I've read, plus seen in documentaries, that Andre's feet, hands, and head just kept on growing. Andre's head was absolutely ridiculously huge. I know a little bit about human anatomy from art studies, and I know that the average adult man is 7 heads tall, I also know that your eyes are right in the middle of your head. So a 7 foot tall man has a 12 inch head, and the length just from the eyes up to the top of the head would be 6 inches. But Andre's head? Just watch an interview with Andre and Vince McMahon and compare head sizes. Andre's head was way out of proportion even to his own massive body. Only 4 inches more on the head of an average 7 footer would give him a 16 inch head, that's 8 inches from the eyes up to the top of the head. If a 6'5 inch man was up to Andre's eyes, that would make Andre 7"1'. Hogan was up to Andre's eyebrows at WM3, and mabe Andre's nose if Andre would be standing totally upright, and I believe that Andre's head was bigger than 16" just because it would be only 4 inch difference to say, Shaq, in which case the difference is much bigger. Also, when someone has a huge head, their eye level could be lower, causing them to have to look up at someone who is actually equal to them in height just because of their massive head. If Andre's head really did keep on growing, then he could have actually GAINED height despite the other surgeries, and this is something that I've actually read, even though I don't remember where, that Andre went from being 7'1" but billed as being 7'4", to actually being measured at 7'4" at the time of his death. I don't know if that's true, but I just keep trying to remember that height is always measured at the top of the head. I know that Hogan and the Rock were eye-to-eye during their staredown but Hogan was significantly taller due to his massive head.

Andre was a bit over 6'11 but not quite a full 7 foot he was also 340 pounds in hi prime but by the time he died he was measured to be 6'9 and 3/4's and 540 pounds due to his acromegaly.

Hogan's older than Troy and was probably needing back surgery if he hadn't had it already. I'd say that, in Hogan's 20s and 30s, he was probably a little taller than Troy, say 6'5". The NFL measures athletes to the Nth degree, so Aikman's height is legit.
