I did this angle on EWR. My version of WWE would be so awesome! Although my EWR version of it only lasted a night, the MiTB winner got injured and sold his briefcase which was then cashed in later in the same night.
As a long term angle it could work. But in WWE it would probably be rife with dodgy continuity and a resolution that doesn't make much sense, like how the anonymous GM thing seems to be going. If they kept it simple it could work though.

If someone won the MITB briefcase, but later suffered a serious neck injury and would need to take a year or more off, this would be a nice way to build suspense about who bought the briefcase and when they might cash it in.

I could see it working if a wrestler won money in the bank, then say a couple of months down the road won the title in a regular match I could see him selling it with a provision that it could never be cashed in against him.
