I think it's funny that Dave can outwrite the writers. Why not just let these guys go off the cuff? lol. It seems so simple, instead of the team of scared nerds who piss their pants while Vince has himself a French Dip in front of them.

Aside from Evolution & his face turn, the guy did nothing for me Pre-PG era. Do we really need more sexual harrasment angles like him and Melina? PG Heel Batista run was a time where he became the most must see wrestler to watch on Mondays for me.

It seems like he comes across well in that interview and was realistic and not bitter.
He made a few good points.
I hope he comes back for one more go'round.

I listened to the interview yesterday, and I thought he made an excellent point about why faces don't get over in this PG era like they used to. Mainly, the argument was that because faces don't ever really GO TO WAR with a heel (shed blood for honor, the fans, or championships, etc.), there's sense of consequence about anything they do, either in victory or defeat. Victories are expected and defeats are shrugged off with not even nonchalance, but sub-chalance (yes, I will get that word over if it kills me, even though I've never used it before now). Not to sound too much like Wade Keller, but there really is no "thrill of victory/agony of defeat" in WWE anymore. A guy could get screwed and be laughing about it the next night. A guy who gets screwed wants another match with the heel just because - and he doesn't even tell the heel "I'm going to keep you from screwing me over ever again," much less say, "I'm going to stop you from screwing over anybody else with your dirty tactics." No more sense of honor and standing up for what's right, and calling heels on their bullshit.
Batista mainly kept his point to the "faces don't go to war and shed blood anymore, so fans don't learn to respect them by going through hellfire at their side," but I still feel the rest is true too, and symptomatic of the larger issue that WWE (through their PG movement, in many ways) has homogenized the product to the point of sterility, eschewing the most basic rules of wrestling psychology, which have worked in the business since time immemorial, and would doubtless work today.

Him being an opponent of the PG era has just raised him about a thousand notches in my book.
Not to mention I always though his Douchetista run was absolutely brilliant.

WWE's been getting more risqué with their content as of late (Cole calling Alex Riley a bastard, R-Truth's psycho character, etc) so if he decides he wants to come back, I'd be all for it. And everything is still PG. It goes a lot further than people seem to think... and a hell of a lot further than the WWE usually pushes it. Yeah, that's a fine line that I should probably make a distinction with. PG in and of itself isn't bad, but to WWE "PG" seems to means 12 and under, which as a 30ish year old I can't stand. Now if they feel it's in their better business interest to market that way I can't fault them too much, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. I will admit they seem to be getting edgier lately, though I still can't stand the "hey, shut up" retort from faces that would have been weak back when I was in 5th grade.

He'd make an awesome surprise Royal Rumble entrant some year...especially if he demands the spotlight while the Rumble is still going on.

"He also says Sheamus has potential and was one of the smart guys who hooked up with veterans like William Regal to learn more about the business. He added that Sheamus took some crap from people for hooking up with the veterans but it was worth" *Gasp* How dare Sheamus try to improve his craft by learning from the best!!! Seriously, why would people give Sheamus crap for doing that? It seems like a smart idea and if I ever joined the WWE the first thing I would do is get advice from veterans like Regal and Chavo about how to improve in the ring, tips on working the crowd etc. Something about this new breed- the FCW breed. They suck in the ring (and many on the mic), but they think they're the hot **** because they look good in trunks. Doesn't apply to everyone, of course, particularly people like Sheamus or Barrett, who've actually been in the business longer than people think, but rather the bodybuilders who've pretty much been up and handed a contract for looking good and think they're God's gift to women and wrestling. why do people act like this is some new phenomena? Lex Luger and Psycho Sid say hi. and for that matter, Batista.

Its not an FCW thing.
The SAME stuff was said about OVW back when they were development fed. Of course they're going to be a tad green, and of course alot of them won't find their stride as far as characters go. A lot of that stuff gets better once they get called up naturally.

PG has nothing to do with it, because there have been PG eras which were freaking awesome.
Also, glad I am funding Bryan's gold boat. I've downloaded the mp3 but haven't listened yet
