Yeah dare I say I am quite enjoying TNA at the moment. I usually rail against the Knockouts but tonight's tag was actually pretty solid stuff. Tessmacher is shockingly good for someone that is relatively green.
I think the positive vibes I'm having are due to feeling that TNA seems to have some sort of plan as long as they don't blow it up. I'm at least seeing Anderson vs. Sting in a rematch, winner of that vs. Angle, and then the winner of that will face the winner of the BFG Series. Think about that for a minute. That's 15 men with a direction, which can lead to all sorts of intrigue up and down the card (stuff like the hinted at Bully Ray/Steiner alliance). I just hope they have some clear idea in mind of who they want in the No Surrender Final 4. I'd say RVD, Styles, Crimson (since he's undefeated he almost has to go a long way before losing), and maybe Gunner if they want to keep pushing him.

Can't say I enjoyed that show nearly as much as last week. A few random points:
- The Knockouts tag match was just awful. With all the women out there, why on earth would they bring back ODB and Jacqui? For goodness sake, they've given Sara Del Rae several tryouts without hiring her, released the likes of Hamada, Cheerleader Melissa and Daffney, yet they hire these two spuds? Then put them in a match with two women who are there just for looks? Ridiculous.
- The X Division match was not impressive at all. Zima's botch to the outside was downright dangerous, and they were blatantly calling spots at a few points. Loved the high-angle camera shot towards the end, though.
- Jerry Lynn's hair looks good for his age. Aside from that, I have no interest in seeing that match. If I wanted to see RVD v Lynn, I have DVDs for that - and would much, much rather see them in their prime. And FFS, could TNA actually acknowledge their own history rather than that of other companies?
- Steiner v Ray was better than I might have expected.

Yeah I appreciate the notion of giving guys a shot but that X Division 3 way was a total indie style spotfest. They would have to be nuts to not have Aries win that match at the PPV to get a contract though.
RVD vs. Lynn will be fine, though I wonder if it will be like watching those two guys do their usual match in slow motion...or maybe they will wrestle a slightly different match this time? I think my favorite of their matches was from a Sept. 1999 episode of ECW on TNN, where Lynn had broken ribs.
I will second the idea of bringing back Cheerleader Melissa, but I have to admit I don't get the appeal of Sarah Del Rey. She isn't big enough to be a Kong style monster heel and not really attractive enough to be in the hot chick category. That and I have seen her at a couple of ROH shows at the Davis Arena and she missed spots something fierce.

Getting to hear Tenay say BRING IT BITCHES made it all worthwhile.
Love Crazy Sting, after all this time he brings this character out? Wow.
There were ups and downs but overall I thought it was a decent show.

That Federico Palacios guy, I heard someone say he regularly wrestles as Azrael or something like that, I haven't seen him in years but that's not the same guy that used to be Angel Dust in Special K right? You are correct, sir.

I seen Xion and Azeral performed better in the indies than that match last night. And Dakota Darsow. That guy just blows. Maybe Jerry can finally make RVD give a damn again. He's a starmaker after all. Sarah can feel the role of a monster quite realistically. Watch some of her Shimmer or Chikara work. And she's good looking and can work. That very important. Unless you care more about hotness.

A few thoughts:
RVD vs. Jerry Lynn. How long into the match before they do the constant pin reversal spot?
The X 3 way: Dakota Darsow was terrible on the mic, and I hope he doesn't show up anymore. Frederico was okay, they should find something for him to do, solely because he saved Xema from crashing hard on that terrible twisting dive. Xema has a good look, except for those atrocious one legged chaps that he was wearing. All of that said, the match wasn't very good and last weeks was much better.
Watching Scott Steiner threaten everyone with the chain was amusing.
Crazy Sting is cool.
