Apparently the winner of the Grand Prix gets one more fight against the opponent of his choosing, then Strikeforce wind the division up. I haven't kept up with that since Reem's last fight there. What have I missed so far in that tournament?

The final is Josh Barnett/Daniel Cormier, which will take place whenever Strikeforce can find a venue in a state that can officially licence Barnett.

An opponent of their choosing, eh? Barnett is going to destroy Josh Koscheck.

in a fight with both at full strength, brock would murder overeem. Based on what? This is wrong on about 43242 levels.

I called Brock losing in the first round. A lot of people need to wake up to how good Overeem is. You saw his confidence on the feet, he didnt even try ANY striking defense, because he knew as long as it was on the feet, it was in the bag.

Brock not going for a takedown had nothing to do with not being at 100% it had to do with him being scared. I think people seem to forget that when Brock fought Mir the second time that he was sick from his illness and wasn't at his full health then. When Brock came back both himself and his DOCTOR said he now fully healthy for the first time in a long time.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the Overeem effect. Women, resistance is futile

Carwin, Overeem and Velasquez have all shown how awful Brock is with striking defense. B) Mir's bottom game from half guard was vastly inferior to Brocks game being in half guard. Brock couldnt bully Overeem like he coulld with Mir. Its not like Brock has an impenetrable takedown. Randy might as well have been a LHW in their fight, and Brock couldnt take him down. (Very experienced wrestler I know, but Brock had a 40+ pound advantage in that fight.

^Overeem is sexy and Arianny knows it. Ok so I've had a few days after that emotional explosion. Got to say, I don't feel let down by either guys. They both went there, fought and there you go. It would of been easy for Brock not to come back after surgery and I was very impressed by Ubereem for not getting the UFC jitters in his debut. I still think JDS takes the fight, he has been working on his TDs (as shown in the Carwin fight) and his stand up is excellent. Great fight to look forward to.

Your right my point was that all of the people saying that the Brock that fought Mir would have done better against Reem are wrong. Brock would have lost at any point of his career. The main reason Brock looked so good pre Carwin was his opponents not his heath.

Meltzer hints in the WOR that the early buyrate number for this show is close to a million. If it was Saturday, it would have definitely be a million.
