It's baseless because not EVERYONE likes Jim Cornette. You are just assuming that the same people who are calling HTM an ass are the same people that praise Jim Cornette. No one in this thread is trying to claim that Cornette is above HTM or better than him. Personally, I don't care for Cornette since, as you said, he really does come off as the kind of guy who goes, "You don't agree with my opinion? Well, f*** YOU!" Dude..when did I say everyone likes Cornette? And no where did I say something along the lines that I'm completely right. All I'm pointing out is there are some (NOT ALL) people who will use double standards based on whether or not their favorite wrestlers are criticized such as Bret Hart here. Cornette has been known to do the same sort of thing, even to the point of physically challenging Russo to a fight or threatening to kick his ass. He even condemned people of religion as "people you should never trust". I mean those sort of things are also pretty non-respectful. Hell, I think both Cornette and Russo are great minds in the business, but are pretty petty at times. But I'm not going to chastise one and let the other one off the hook...that's ridiculous.

My point is no one in this thread is doing it so it just seems kind of pointless to try to single out some people when no one in this thread is doing it. It really doesn't make sense to call out people who aren't in this thread.

Awfully low shot on Bret. Surprised he didn't bring Owen/Bulldog into it. I still wonder why Honky Tonk Man was riding in a limo with Bret, Neidhart, Davey, etc. from a scene in Wrestling With Shadows when he seems to hate Bret Hart so much.....

Honky Tonk's not a pleasant guy.
He's the one who posted photos of Stacy Carter sucking another guy's dick on Jerry Lawler's website when they were divorcing.
It's good to stick by a guy when his wife betrays him, but you don't do it where millions of people can see it.

The New Age Outlaws also mocked Bret's stroke in one of the early shoot interviews they did after Billy was released from WWE. Lost all respect for them after I saw that. What did they say? It's been several years since I saw it, but Road Dogg said something in a voice that mocked Bret's slurred speech post-stroke and I think they even compared him to a "retard" because of his voice (which was worse back then, not long after he had the stroke).

Is there even any money in a HTM shoot? He seems to have a bunch of them, is there really anyone who watches him and is left wanting more? When Jim Cornette goes off on a tangent he at least has a sense of humor about it. HTM is just so full of bile and venom that it's just uncomfortable to watch. He's lucky to have had that Intercontinental title reign that's really his only claim to fame. Exactly. How many things has the HTM got to say and how many people are interested in it? They must have discussed every topic in the Encyclopedia Britannica.

Deeply disrespectful and unpleasent as people. My grandad suffered a stroke somone needs to inform them that literaly a whole side of your body stops working and so the fact Bret has only slightly slurred speech is actually quite impressive comeback. But you have to judge them on the achievments and what they have either done in the business I mean Billy Gunn is known for being part of wrestlings (failed) version of a brokeback mountain tag team and then been buried by the Rock thats quite a career While Road Dogg's achievments are .................... somone help me out here

Well, at least Road Dogg. Anyone who could at least be decent enough to cover up Dogg's less-then-impressive ring skills could have been in the Billy position.

With X-Pac, and K Kwik(R. Truth) and those teams didn't exactly set the world on fire. The NAO were quite a big deal in a very good tag division. They had great chemistry and were one of the biggest draws at the start of the Attitude era.

The idea of Honky taking the title to NWA is hilarious. They would have had him jobbing to Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant.

This is like 3 years old, and he also says the same thing in a shoot from 2005 with Raven.

If they've lost respect for HTM after that, I hope the OP never sees the shoot with him, New Jack and the Iron Sheik.

Honky Tonk Man has been working a pathetic Elvis gimmick for 30 years or so, who had much respect for him to begin with?

Honky Tonk Man has been working a pathetic Elvis gimmick for 30 years or so, who had much respect for him to begin with? Oh my god, I just had a realisation. Honkey Tonk Man is such a firm believer in kayfabe that even after 30 years, he's still doing an Elvis gimmick, he's 70's fat, washed up, drugged up, rambling Elvis!
