The Knockouts car washing thing was horrifically bad, yeah. That entire plotline, which ultimately ended up with big strong men like Sting and Jeff Hardy taking care of the mean Karen Jarrett for the weak, worthless Knockouts that were treated like meat, was the worst, most degrading moment for women in wrestling since Vince McMahon made Trish bark like a dog. And this is an industry that had "HLA," Santina Marella, and Christy Hemme wanting women to get fair representation in wrestling... and being the heel because of it.
OK, apparently I blocked that whole debacle out of my head. I'm changing my grade from a C to a C-.

The firing was not anything about Sting being the "big strong man" and about Karen and JJ digging their own graves the whole night, pulling the self sacrificing card in front of each other, then running to Sting and trying to get their own spouses fired and saving their own skin.

D+ Need to do better.
Last two-three months have been around C-B level though. Needs more of that. But I can't ignore the mistakes of the rest of the year.
Still an improvement overall on 2010 though.

I thought about giving them a C because they were average with a few bright spots. But then I realised the only thing I ever liked this year has been the pushing of Roode and Storm. So it's D.
It would have been an F if I would hated everything about the show. But Storm and Roode are keeping my hope alive. And AJ matchs.

Not to mention that Karen got injured anyway, having to miss the AAA tour too. It's not like Karen is completely gone from the company, the storyline hasn't been dropped just because the knockouts haven't gotten their revenge yet.
Karen(and Jeff) always come back.

Make all the excuses you want for the knockouts being degraded, it still was terrible!!!!!!!! And for a company that prided itself as saying "Hey, we arent the WWE divas", that was hypocritical.
Hell, it made Gail Kim (Not her character, but the actual person) a complete hypocrite.

In regards to the Knockouts, I think the fact that pretty much all the KOs for awhile were going the sluts and bitches route in regards to insulting people did a lot of damage, and yes, Karen is a heel, but there are more ways to insult somebody then calling someone a slut with a big gaping vagina. It got to be way too much this year, plus we're supposed to feel sympathy for Traci for cheating on her husband to get a job with Eric Bischoff.

E.
I gave up on TNA (watching it properly) quite a while ago, maybe 18 months-2 years but I follow the results/product and am waiting to hear of something that might get me interested in it but there is far, far, far too much rubbish going on to make me want to watch it.
However, when I hear of a good match in the promotion (and with the amount of good workers on the roster, I don't hear nearly enough of this), I'll watch it. Not really paying attention to the story, but there are a lot of wasted workers in TNA that pull out good matches, and so TNA gets the E for the effort of their workers.
Everything else about the promotion in my opinion is bilge. Hope it changes.

As far as the knockouts being degraded goes, notice that not all of the knockouts were involved in that segment. Gail, Mickie, ODB, Rosita, Sarita, and Traci did not participate.
Maybe some were asked...and they refused. Maybe the ones who did participate were asked and simply went "Meh, okay."
I believe they had some what of a choice in the matter.
My point is I think that the women who participated in the car wash segment view it as an afterthought rather than something that degraded and humiliated them. I don't think they cared as much as their fans do. If it's not a big deal to them, then it's just not a big deal to them.
As far as the "we aren't divas" vignettes those pretty much stopped after Kong left and even while she was there you still had the beautiful people grinding on the ring ropes. Factor in that most of knockout photo shoots are more risque than the divas current photo shoots.
They are not all about "just being women's wrestlers" it's more so "being women's wrestlers who also look good." It's been that way for a while now. Even 'serious' wrestlers like Hamada have done photo shoots in bikini's in the past.(not with TNA) and that's their choice if they want to.
Several Joshi women have done photo shoots and videos like that too and those are some of the best women's wrestlers.

Gail was actually involved in it as she was the one who was spraying the knockouts.

F
For the simple fact it made me stop watching completely. Even barring the backstage crap.
And no match from what I heard or reached the level to which I'd actually take a look back at it, even when I was looking for MOTYCs in the end of the year.
Somehow, TNA has made me uninterested with not just the product, but almost every single wrestler in it. There's only one exception, and he only wrestles in TNA. That's Pope, no matter how many terrible angles he's in.
And that KO angle was just a showcase of their true value in the company, and where they are directing that division. At no time in that feud did they ever really talk about why it is the KOs are important to TNA or pro wrestling. At no time did they put value into the titles, what they do, or any of that.
At no time did they make me care about what they were doing in or out of the ring. That's the definition of degradation, wrestling wise.
