Not really the same type of thing, but it was weird to find out that Al Snow has been wrestling since 1982. He just never got a real break until 1995. .....and still hasn't had any accomplishments!

Rikishi coming out at the 2000(?) Royal Rumble and JR saying something like "Rikishi's been in more Royal Rumble's than anybody else in this match, he's been in 8." At the time I was like "Whaaaaaaa?", as I never knew of Fatu and all that came before Rikishi came to be. You mean they acknowledged his previous gimmicks? I thought if kayfabe him and Fatu were two different people(I know he was called Rikishi Phatu sometimes, but still). I heard Damien Demento and Papa Shango were around until October 1993, but I only saw them wrestle(on TV) till early 93. Also, its amazing how long Funaki and Scotty 2 Hotty were still on the payroll without being released. Same with Val Venis.

The Bushwhackers had been going for over 25 years before they joined the WWF, debuting in 1964.
Terry Funk debuted in 1965 and is still wrestling. Hell, Abdullah the Butcher has been going since 1958 and is still working matches, as is Johnny Saint.
