I'm thinking Vin might start raising hell at Wrestling Is Fun! shows since it's like a sister promotion. Plus he is from the NEPA area where they run.

Gotta feeling King is going to start getting Cena heat and that is exactly what Chikara is going for.

Well, if he's implying what I think he's implying, every "Ace" of CHIKARA so far has hone on a rampage only to have their status and power corrupt them ultimately.
Chris Hero, Claudio, and now quite possibly Kingston.
Never mind that it would take the story full circle of Eddie becoming the very thing he has hated most of his career & he's no stranger to being a rudo.
Also it would be a new spin on him, admittedly.
Just...not sure how I feel about that. Especially if it means Brodie gets squashed like how Vin did.
Oh, and Friskey, what's wrong with CHIKARA's 2007ish era?
I personally would prefer the days of the Eye of Tyr pre-BDK or even the BDK era but I'd take that era even over the last season. Give me Vin Gerard running amuck, the Colony being awesome, FIST being killer rudos, Claudio & Kingston have a shades of grey feud, and so on over guest stars, guest stars and more guest stars!
That said, I fully admit that the last season partially was there to set up this one, still doesn't change how slow moving & at times, dull as dirt it was to sit through.

You're going to have to explain that theory cuz I'm not following. They've just been booking him so strong that I see it turning people off and I think that is on purpose. He's steamrolled threw everyone and made it look like he has no equal in Chikara. There is no way in this day and age that any promoter would book someone that strong and not expect some backlash (unless you're name is McMahon). I mean I know they want to get the Grand Championship over but (again, having not seen the latest Gerard match), he's been seemingly unstoppable. Maybe it's me being too out of touch with the Chikarmy but it just seems they making him a guy that cannot be beat and knows it. Plus he comes off as more of heel than anyone else in Chikara, IMO. Then again, maybe I am reading too much into it and they are just setting him up to be Chikara's savior at the ROH shows.

I agree that Super King is hurting him more than it's helping him, his matches are predictable and he's becoming G-Rated. I don't think it's on purpose, it's just an unfortunate side effect of having a first ever Grand Champion who should be the bar for all future champions. However they are running a very high risk of rounding the corners off of King too much and he'll become a parody of what he should be.

Gotta feeling King is going to start getting Cena heat and that is exactly what Chikara is going for. That's...not a good thing to be doing. Not if they stretch it out too long, no. IMHO stories--in wrestling or anywhere--are a lot more interesting if the hero is the underdog and the bad guy looks unstoppable. (For a non-wrestling example, look at most of the X-Men villains.) If WWE were smart, then they would turn Cena heel and have him maintain his apparent invincibility for a while before somebody finally emerged who could beat him. Kind of like what they did with Mark Henry. Chikara could do the same with King, but if they plan to turn him rudo they need to do it before people become bored with SuperKing.

I dunno, while I'm still not ruling it out, I'm not so sure those fellas were ROH invaders. If they wanted to make a mark like that, why disguise themselves? But then, that leaves me in a quandry of who exactly they would be.
Hmm, certainly mysterious...

Here's something that has been bugging me, whatever happened to Chikara being bought by WMD Corp.? They were still listed as owners on the High Noon stuff but other than that it all seems to have been forgotten and Chikara isn't known for that (well video game excluded).
Also, how long has Chikara been running a consulting service for Indy guys looking for gimmicks? Interesting way to find new talent and make some cash.

I think Wink is tied to that whole thing. Why else would a fool such as he be where he is right now without powerful friends?

Normally a little thing like that wouldn't bother me but I am so used to Chikara having all their bases covered on things like that it sticks out to me. Though they did it again last year (year before?) bringing up Quack and Stigma having 3 unused points and then promptly dropping it.

I've always said that if they EVER do a Cena heel turn, that he needs to stay the way he is, and have a Superman run again. But I love the idea of King finally letting the voices go to his head and after all the years battling his demons, he finally gets a chance to run with the pack. Pure power trip.

Apparently not ROH guys. Heard something about the masks possibly having diamonds on them. Could this finally be Worldwide Media Development Corporation making their long awaited impact?
