When he faced Luger at Summerslam '93, I'd be shocked if he was actually a pound over 440- his suplexes were pretty crisp and he moved well by the standards of most wrestlers. Though everything after than was a slide downhill, quality wise and obviously health wise.

I was shocked when I learned several years ago he was on the payroll until late 1998. They were paying for his weight loss therapy for almost 2 years after he last appeared on TV.
They really did want to do what they could for him, but in the end it just became a hopeless endeavor.

However WWF management may have pushed Yoko to gain weight early on, they definitely tried to get him to loose weight later on. Several times it seems.
They're hardly blameless, but they realized Yoko was too big to be healthy and tried to get him to rectify it. At that point, it was all on him...
