Honestly, if I didn't see the bottom part of the poster and Vampiro wasn't on there, I'd have thought it was a poster from the early '90s and not the early 2000s

Remember those horrifying action figures they made with the massive proportions and all that? I had a Sting from that line that if you pushed down a bone lever in his back his eyes would pop out and his facepaint would fly off like a mask. Goddamn weird figures. I mean, we all know that Sting's paint is not a mask so why even bother? Why bother with the whole line really, I mean, I saw, I think Sid, and he frightened me, he looked like one of those weirdie assed WWF toys that you could put water in and they would sweat. I had to have like EVERY WWF action figure around that time and even I didn't touch those things. Anyway, those drawings look like those WCW toys.

La Parka was really over back then looking at some of the gifs. Or at least he seemed to be, I'm sure they could have given the Crusierweight Title to him, well, unless he wasn't a Crusierweight. He did a lot of absurd things and that seemed to help him.

He was a Luchadore but indeed he was not a cruiserweight and thus never challenged for the belt.
Yes, Oklahoma eventually got the belt but blame that on Russo (fat guy wins skinny guy belt! hilarious!).

I always disliked the part in The Rise and Fall of WCW, where they're showing a clip of failed ideas and characters from WCW, and La Parka shows up strumming a chair, like that was anymore terrible than anything the WWF/E ever did during the goofy gimmick era or the attitude era. in fact, La Parka as the chairman of WCW was extremely over and entertaining as hell. I hate WWE's need to trash things they never saw were over and to act like they don't have their own track record of bad ideas, or at least feel the need to point out other promotions' failures first and foremost.

I think people really liked La Parka since most of the luchadores didn't do promos and didn't really have personalities outside of their flying around in the ring. La Parka started dancing in the chair and strumming it making him stand out more than some of the others. I remember how popular wrestling was when I was in high school in the late 90's and how in Spanish class we'd use the luchadores names in the stories we'd have to write for class. My teacher really liked the character of Juventud Guerrera that I "invented." I remember she told us that La Parka was not a Spanish word.

Wish there was a good picture of the Cruiserweight Tag Titles, always wanted to see them in detail. Every photo seems to be screen grabs or from a far distance.

This is undoubtedly one of my favourite posts in the history of this forum. What's the story behind the Hogan/Konnan photo? I'm normally one to defend Hogan's wrestling skills but even I have to admit that's one of the few photos where he is the superior worker in the frame.

No matter how Austin smiles or poses, he ALWAYS looks like a catalog model for JCPenneys.
