To clarify the storyline reason why Awesome threw Kanyon off the cage, this was part of the New Blood storyline, and one of the goals of the New Blood was to destroy "Positively Page". DDP had just released that book, so I guess they were trying to remove everything positive from his life and crush his self-esteem.
At Spring Stampede, Bischoff convinced Kimberly to turn on Page. At Slamboree, Arquette turned on him and cost him the World Heavyweight Championship. Right after that, Kanyon entered the cage in retaliation, and Mike Awesome threw him off the top. This lead to a month-long storyline where Kanyon was paralyzed, but this was all a ruse: Kanyon had been in cahoots with Awesome and the New Blood the entire time. Once the deception was revealed, DDP was finally broken, and he announced he was taking a sabbatical. Then Kanyon started mocking Page by doing the "Positively Kanyon" gimmick, which most people agree was one of the finest things from late-period WCW.
Yes, it was incredibly tasteless to do the fall in the Kemper Arena a year to the month that Owen died. I just like explaining the methods of Vince Russo's madness.

Yeah arena choice aside, that was actually a pretty brilliant angle, even with Arquette involved.

I don't think he was in a coma, but they did have him in a surgical halo for a month. |

 Kimberly will always be the #1 Nitro Girl to me. Then Fyre at #2 then Spice and Chae tied for #3. All the others (save for Stacy Kiebler) were just kinda there. Also, Dancin' Tank Abbott was probably the best thing about late WCW. I vaguely remember a WCW episode of Dating Game, and there were some Nitro Girls on there, and I remember one of them was WAY taller than the other two, anyone remember which one that was? |

I remember seeing this live, if I remember correctly that match ended pretty much after this spot because he got hurt. I always thought he broke his tailbone but apparently he tore his urethra according to wikipedia. |

Lance Storm always mentions how this was a very short time in his career, but it's one of the things I remember most about WCW: One of the few bright spots during WCW 2000. Loved his match with Booker T. Actually thought he had a shot since he had all the other singles titles at the time. |
