Wow...
I remember that blog post, even though I wasn't a member here. If that was part of the build up, if this Gekido storyline is a "Wrath of Khan" for Quack (aka: a complete deconstruction of his persona)...
Then between this and the Delirious storyline, Chikara is crafting some crazily built up storylines. The nerd in me likes that a lot!

I'm pretty sure the guy that had that tumblr also had a facebook so i dunno if its directly invovled with the event, maybe inspired it. I would not let it past chikara for that.

Just re-reading a couple of old threads, and....whatever happened to the Mysterium Populi and WMDCorp?

Just re-reading a couple of old threads, and....whatever happened to the Mysterium Populi and WMDCorp? Mysterium's still ongoing but since it's a contest thing or whatever people aren't very forthcoming with information if they've figured things out. WMDCorp, I think, was just a way of putting in/explaining Wink as the DoF.

Good point on 101 - who are "War Wrestling, Inc." that are presenting the Manhattan show on Sunday?

Good point on 101 - who are "War Wrestling, Inc." that are presenting the Manhattan show on Sunday? When I googled it, all it came back to me with was Wrestling Inc, which looks like a second rate news site.

Sorry to interrupt the current topic, but I have just got to vent about something here. And this isn't meant as a knock against 101 so much as it is against certain people there. I'm really hating how my wanting GEKIDO to win after reading deviANT's blog is being received there. It's a perfect example of Protagonist Centered Morality, which means basically "A character is considered good or evil purely based on their actions towards the protagonist." Quack is a good guy. If you say that he isn't, if you say that he's an asshole (or words to that effect) for what he does to his students, people are like "Shut up, you idiot! He's the good guy! He's always been the good guy! He always will be the good guy! And anybody who feuds with him is the bad guy! What's wrong with you?" EDIT: Also, another frustrating real life example of something like Protagonist Centered Morality concerns somebody I met in real life at "Green Ice" and got to know a bit. She's this super-ultra-die-hard Chikara fan, and she almost went apeshit when I told her what I heard about Quack's real life behaviour. Because she's met Quack, she's talked to him, he was nice to her, and therefore she will not accept the idea that he isn't just as nice to everybody else. She is positive that any stories of him being an asshole are complete fabrications. Of course, if she'd heard stories about somebody she didn't know being an asshole, she'd consider the possibility that they might be true. But since it's Quack, it can't be true, it just can't.

iPPV main event~! Ultimo? I think we might've found the other shoe. I'm going to find it hard to believe something big doesn't happen in this match. It's a practical repeat of a past match, it's on iPPV, and it's the main event. I think a "BDK forms" moment might occur here. And yeah, WMDCorp seems to be as slow moving as a snail in terms of storyline relevance. Mysterium Populi is still a big ? after people started hushing up over the clues & answers. Closest to War Wrestling Inc. I've heard of are two Japanese promotions that are now dead. Weird. And I get how you feel, Socko. Personally, I find the storyline an interesting shade of gray from the norm. Quack is coming off a bit like a dick & an idiot right now but he does have something of a point. Partially because GEKIDO, while they have a point too and it is far more legit honestly, are helping Quack look more credible. Because they're doing a classic villain trick, taking a logical & relateable motivation to an extreme. While one can sympathize with them, their sense of entitlement & bitterness come through just enough to make one possibly question it. Neither side is entirely in the right and it's an aspect of CHIKARA storytelling I've missed and I enjoy. EDITED: Huh, that Jigsaw promo not only was decent but it also had some serious rudo vibes to it. Might be why. Cocky, loudmouth, chickenshit rudo Jigsaw was him at his best back in the day.

Alright, if that's the match when stuff gets real, it had better happen. Otherwise we're just spinning our wheels.

As an aside, while I'm all for people updating their gear, am I the only one who dislikes the fact that Soldier & Green are both sporting green in their current roster pics? When scrolling by matches it can get confusing to figure out who is in what match. I wouldn't doubt some of the CHIKARA fanbase's heads would explode if they realized that's what CHIKARA's trying to do. Simply because these are typically the same people that refused to see it when CHIKARA has done it in the past. Only wanting to see black and white in the grand picture. Must be a boring existence, huh?

When scrolling by matches it can get confusing to figure out who is in what match. I noticed that too. On the one hand I've always been a fan of masked tag teams who were practically indistinguishable from one another (Conquistadors, Cruel Connection, Galaxians, etc), on the other we're supposed to tell the two apart so Soldier should go back to his grey camo or something.

Well, that was the sign of a heel turn, some false bravado from Jigsaw...
Or...
Could Jigsaw be allied with GEKIDO?

Agreed, plus it makes Fire Ant stand out all the more as the odd man out in the group when Soldier & Green do share colors.

Yeah, that'll sell tickets! While it is different times in CHIKARA's history, Toxic Trio wasn't a terrible stable. Admittedly it had Jigsaw playing something of a "The Brain/Mastermind" Spike Dudley role to Kingston's & BlackJack's Dudley Boys.
