So I got an iPod Touch for Christmas so I'd have music to listen to when I worked out. Being a super-late adopter of portable music formats, I don't have any previous collections of music to build off of, so I need good workout songs to fill it. I have someo n there, but right now not enough to not run through the entire playlist before my workout is over.
So does anyone have any favorites that work for working out?

My friend used to listen to the soundtrack to Conan when working out (the original). Sometimes music like that can help.
I just got an iPod myself and I freaking love the thing. It's amazing.

I have two playlists on my Ipod
Workout music
Everyday Chill Music.
Workout Music has:
Metal(Mettalica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, etc), Punk(The Clash, The Sex Pistols, Black Flag, NOFX, etc., Hardcore Rap(Dr Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z etc.)
Not to say I don't listen to that outside of the gym but that's what I use during my workouts.
My Everday Chill list has:
Laid back hip hop(The Roots, Common, Dilated Peoples, etc.) Classic Rock,(Hendrix and a whole lot more) and R & B of all kinds.

For me, nothing beats 80's metal for workout music, But there are notable exceptions: I am big into "Its a Sin" by the Petshop Boys, "Edge of the Night" by Iggy Pop, and "I Believe" by Manowar for getting a good pump going.

Wrestling themes make up the bulk of my workout playlist. Dolph Ziggler being one of my fave themes to work out to.

Playlists are for suckers! I just throw my 30 Gig Zune on shuffle, and whatever happens, happens.

Appetite for Destruction really gets your blood going, when "Welcome to the Jungle" starts up.

My workout music has always been my Headbanging folder. Pantera, Metallica, Slipknot, Five Finger...stuff like that. Think the only non metal song in there is "Lose Yourself" and "Till I Collapse" by Eminem.

I really like It's a Sin and I Believe. Those are definitely going in there. I'm not a huge fan of thrash metal or headbanger's music for working out. I don't know, something about the style just doesn't have the proper effect for me. But those songs I should definitely be able to get into.

Industrial Metal. Rammstein is probably the most well known band of this type that I play. A steady, hard driving beat mixed with some heavy guitars.

My favorite album to workout to is Sex, Drugs and Rock N Roll by Social Distortion. It works amazing well to listen to it in order for a work out. I do normally start with a song from a different band for when I am warming up (The Minibosses version of Mega Man 2 is good for this) and then I start. You get a fast song in "Reach for the Sky" to start out and get you going at a hard pace. The sneaky song that really gets you going is Winners and Losers. While it is a slower song, how can you not start hammering it on your work out when a line of the chorus is "Winners and Losers, which one will you be today?"
