We managed to save over $100 on a $200 grocery bill two weeks ago. That was cool.
The Extreme Couponing show is ridiculous though. Most stores have limits that prevent that kind of thing.

What gets me is the absolute DEDICATION these people have to this. Plus the fact they don't seem to be buying "regular" things; I really don't need 350 dollars worth of laundry detergent for 3 bucks.

Damn. And I feel like a cheapskate when I'll buy 2-3 extra Sunday papers just for the coupons when there's a lot of good stuff in there. A couple weeks ago I saved something like $800 on stuff by doing that (a lot of it was for work on my car and my parents' cars).

i almost cannot believe this show to be true to life, or at least a massive exaggeration of how these people live. why would that woman stay with a husband who won't spend more than $1.68 on an anniversary gift and gives her flowers he found in a dumpster? additionally, how must it feel to watch your husband ask other diners for their left-overs so he can take them home and eat them? what a pathetic, embarrassing way to live your life.

The Learning Channel used to be like educational programming mostly ? Now really dumb reality shows it seems. No different from the crap on A&E and Tru Tv.

This is funny to me because YEARS ago I read an article in the Enquirer (Quality I know) that actually mentioned "real life" examples of people doing similar things. Two that stick out in my mind are a woman who had a bottle of wine in her fridge and nothing else; She would eat by finding gallery openings (This is in L.A.) and soup kitchens throughout the day.
The other was a man who pulled apart two ply paper towels, used and then DRIED them. In addition he would pull apart two ply toilet paper to make it last longer.

Wtf? This reminds of the time I decided to watch Oprah. She had people on the show that called themselves freegans. They got like 99 percent of there stuff for free by dumpster diving and whatnot. They weren't even poor, one of them was a doctor. f***ing ridiculous.

I have a family member who goes dumpster diving and they seem proud of it. It makes me cringe.
