This morning I woke up and had a tightness in my chest. I don't feel any pain until I cough. I can't help but feel as a teenager that I'm too young to get a heart attack but I do have asthma. Anyone got any tips for this because honestly I'm scared right now.

Yeah, go see a doctor and don't ask for medical advice on a wrestling board.

In my experience that kind of feeling is usually just an allergy thing or something. Try some decongestant or something and see if that helps, and failing that I'd look further into it. Probably nothing major though.

If you've been coughing alot you may have pulled your chest muscles, well that's what I've done a few times anyway.
But seeing the Doctor is the best option (mine gave me some stronger painkillers).

Yeah, go see a doctor and don't ask for medical advice on a wrestling board. I've seen people ask for advice on here before. Granted it's usually not as serious as this but it's best to get much more advice. I'd already booked a doctor's appointment anyway so I can't say I'm doing the wrong thing anyway. I can see where you're coming from though. I've been feeling a bit of pain in my collarbone as well. I don't think it's something to do with the heart (at least I hope not).

Just google the symptoms like all the great doctors do!

Definatly go and see a Doctor. In fact, with a chest pain, skip the GP and go straight to A+E. About 2 years ago I had similar symptoms and thought it was just a pulled muscle, eventually it started hurting constantly and it turned out I had Pnemonia. I was carted out of work in an Ambulance and had a hospital stay of a fortnight. I'm not quite as young as you but it can happen to anyone. I hope its nothing that serious but with this type of thing erring on the side of caution is never a bad thing.

Definitely going to second the doctor advice.
That said, I had a similar experience a few years ago where I felt the whole tightness/pain aspect. Went to the hospital - turned out to be from a panic attack (first time). On the plus side, I learned that I had a heart murmur, so that was good to know.

Like others have said, posting about it here is the last thing you should do. Go to the doctor, or your parents, or somebody that may be able to keep you from dying in the event that you actually are about to have a heart attack or something.

Have you been eating a lot over the holidays? I had this issue last January and it turned out to be a combination of that and the amount of stress I was going through (2010 was a very BAD year for me).

Just to update, I went to the doctors and was diagnosed with a chest infection. The pain in my shoulder is from coughing so much over the past few weeks.
Thanks to everyone for the advice.

Good thing you got it checked out, I'm thought for a second we were gonna see our first ever live heart attack on the FAN.

Is more in the middle where the sternum is? I occasionally get pain there. I just massage it for a bit and it goes away, but since you have a medical history, I would go get that check out.
