Listening to opinions from people who I respect and they are telling me to avoid this film at all costs. I'm actually going to take their words for it.

That comes across as him being a stuck up old prick with delusions of grandeur from a long lost youth of fame. Oh well, even if he hated it, he did a great job.

i must be the only one who liked the second one better, im seeing this, its fricking giant robots fighting, who cares about a plot . If shia had his way, it would have had a more human element, wtf?

Just got back from seeing it a second time, and my experience was mostly the same; only difference was that there was no post-viewing dancing by anyone in the audience.
And this movie now holds the distinction of being one of the few my dad can get through without falling asleep. He's dozed off on just about every movie he's gone to the theaters to see over the years, but this one had him wide awake and attentive, which was cool.

That was... not good. I couldn't even mock it. It just kept dragging on and on. What the hell did I just watch!?

Yeah, I didn't need to bother watching the links, I knew they both weren't going to like it. Spoony's "BARK at the Moon" comment was pretty funny though. He's got a point...it kind of is a stupid title. You can prob. thank Pink Floyd for that. Anyways, first day figures are out. $37.3 million. Not the $62 million that ROTF did, but it's better than the $27.9 million that the first movie did on their first days respectively. www.superherohype.com/news/articles/167725-transformers-dark-of-the-moon-opens-to-37-million-day-one

I'm gonna do a full on review later today for this sucker, but first impressions:
The first chunk of the movie is total and complete trash on the level of the worst parts of Revenge of the Fallen, to the point where I was ready to write the whole thing off.
Then the double twist (Sentinel's evil! The guy from Enchanted is evil!) goes off and suddenly it becomes an AWESOME movie really fast. I haven't seen a switch from annoying to awesome like it since Death Proof.

ROTF was good. The problem is it's two hours of almost constant action. By the end, you're completely drained. Plus it's a movie abut giant robots fighting. I'm not looking for The Shawshank Redemption in this movie.
DOTM was great. The first half is interesting as it sets up the story and the battle in Chicago. The last half of the movie was very entertaining. The Decepticons came across as a real threat. The Autobots actually fought and didn't really come across as weak. That was my opinion in the first one, after Starscream for the most part took out Ratchet and Ironhide.

Saw it last night, and absolutely loved it.
Standout features include:
- Optimus was an absolute badass in this film.
- Soundwave getting his comeuppance from Bumblebee was great
- Man, Chicago got wrecked. The humans getting melted or being shot to pieces was pretty gruesome, too.
- I cheered when Sentinel Prime said Spock's "Needs of the many" line from TWOK
- Gotta download the score from Amazon tonight. Easily the best composition of the 3 films.
- Loved the little nod to the TF animated film near the end when an unnamed Decepticon tried to save himself from the bomb planted on him, by tearing off his leg in the same exact manner that Unicron tore off his leg

Questions
- How do they write out Megan Fox's character, if they even did, at all? - Is the humour unbearable? - How conclusive is the ending?

Questions - How do they write out Megan Fox's character, if they even did, at all? - Is the humour unbearable? - How conclusive is the ending? 1.) She's just mentioned as having dumped Sam and moved on. 2.) Humor is actually tolerable. The cringeworthy scenes were with Sam's parents. Thankfully, they had reduced roles in the film. 3.) Pretty conclusive. {Spoiler}Optimus absolutely murders Megatron, Shockwave, and Sentinel Prime. So unless they'll have an all new-villian for another film, this one seems pretty definitive as an end to the franchise
