LSU is first team since Miami(FL) in 2001 to be the only unbeaten team left and play for the national title.

Seriously, RGIII for Heisman is all I care about now. My rooting interest in this season, teamwise, died today with Syracuse's piss-poor performance against Pitt. If I had a vote it would look like this. Griffin III Ball Richardson Luck Weeden BFeldmanCBS Bruce Feldman Gonna turn my Heisman ballot in. It's gonna have a Baylor player in the #1 spot. Not sure I'd ever imagined that happening.

One thing I noticed we haven't discussed was how OU's defense kept falling for the same trick play.
You know what trick play I'm talking about, the one where Weeden handed it off to a running back and then fake a pass throw.
OU kept biting on it, nearly every single time it was ran.
If I was OU's bowl opponent, I would try and find film of this game and play it on an endless loop all throughout the break leading up to the bowl game, especially practice that trick play.
It is such a simple trick play, but it appeared to be OU's Kryptonite.

I've touted the guy to anyone who'd listen last season and this season and now it's finally coming good for him. I'm proud of him and I have no connection to the guy other than being a huge fan.

Someone from Baylor is in contention for the Heisman, and Oklahoma State is in contention for a national title...
What a bizarre season.

One more case for OK State:
Who has Bama beaten other than Arkansas and Penn State? None of their other wins came against an FCS team with a winning record.
Bama would be rewarded for a good loss.
Okie State's beaten Missouri, Baylor, K-State, and now Oklahoma (those Kansas State and Baylor wins look very good now).
Okie State has a good resume of wins. All Alabama has is two nice wins and a "darn nice try" against LSU.
They are ranked where they are not on body of work, but on reputation and a "darn nice try" in the game of the century.

BTW Heisman fans, Dennis Dodd of CbsSports.com says that Tyrann Matheiu should be in Heisman contention if not win the award ... excuse me while I laugh uncontrolably for a while.

I just want these voters to actually do their jobs. If OKST gets the spot then so be it. I'll disagree but if it's because they honestly believe all things considered that they are the second best team in the country then that's it. But I've already seen more than one person with the "Oh Alabama is absolutely the second best team, but I don't want to see it again" argument and that makes me nervous and really irritated. It isn't their job to vote on what they want. They're supposed to be voting for who they think is better, but I'm losing faith that I'm even going to get that much.

Oklahoma State vs. LSU
I'm imagining the voters tomorrow morning will have OSU number two which will eek them past Bama in the BCS numbers. That OSU offense vs. LSU defense matchup is so much more compelling than a rematch of two teams that will probably end 9-6.

IF Okie State plays for the national title, who would take their spot in the Fiesta Bowl (the worst-case scenario if we get the rematch of rematches)?

Matheiu wouldn't be bad just for the basis that he's a defensive player. I'd love if positions other than QB and RB got Heisman love more often.
The man who the award is named after played a position that'd pretty much exclude him from winning it. That's a shame to me.

I think Bama is probably better, but I think the job of the voters has to be to objectively pick the team that deserves it more, more than what their gut instinct tells them. For me, Bama isn't the team that did the most. That's not a knock on Bama, that's just how I think voting should happen. When you're selecting the two teams to play and excluding everyone else, you have to pick the two with the best resume in my mind. IF Okie State plays for the national title, who would take their spot in the Fiesta Bowl (the worst-case scenario if we get the rematch of rematches)? I'd think they'd get first pick of the non-obligated teams, so probably Alabama.

The only thing that gets me about that is how do they know how many human voters will or won't switch? I mean, are they calling ALL of them? I know some will, but after hearing about what a monumental number it would have to be I'm hesitant to assume that they just know.

IF Okie State plays for the national title, who would take their spot in the Fiesta Bowl (the worst-case scenario if we get the rematch of rematches)? CNNSI.com predicts K-State will take the spot and face Stanford. I would rather see TCU-Stanford or Boise-Stanford to be honest.

I wish a wrestling writer booked the Bcs like a ppv. We'd have had Bama cutting a promo about playing lsu again because of rematch clause. Then Cult of personality would hit and okie lite would come out and say "not so fast Bama..."

I'm not trying to take anything away from OK St., but I think last night's win had more to do with Oklahoma playing like garbage than OK St. playing really well.
It still boggles my mind how terribly they played. I mean, I know teams can have an off night, but still... It's like they didn't even try.
