So with Chandler joining Amar'e and Carmelo, does that make the Knicks' starting frontcourt the overall scariest one in the league?

CP3 or not, the Lakers are not exactly equipped as a SUPERMEGATEAM ala Miami (they could lose a lot of size, and they already have a thin bench. They'd be even more individual-dependent than the Heat).
If Dwight Howard stays in Orlando or goes to the Nets- in other words, not the Lakers- I am guaranteeing there will be NBA Finals game in OKC this June.
What happens to Howard may seriouslu impact the West race; if he does not go to the Lakers, the Thunder will own the West

WojYahooNBA As @daldridgetnt reports, David West close w/ Celtics. Y! Sources say sides working on a sign-and-trade for a 3-year, $27-29M deal.

WojYahooNBA The agent for Dwight Howard, Dan Fegan, tells Y! Sports that Orlando has given Howard permission to talk to three teams. The Nets are one of three teams that Howard has permission to speak, but Fegan says Howard did not attend a meeting with Nets officials.
Keep hope alive!

Yeah, just hearing that Howard DID have permission all along. Ironically, it was given to avoid the Chris Paul debacle. Looks like it was a whole bunch of miscommunication.
Double oops!
Assuming they get a fanbase that cares (which I still think is their biggest challenge, especially with the moves the Knicks are making), a Nets team with both Deron Williams and Dwight Howard could be REALLY good for the team. They can also build a real rivalry with the Knicks, as opposed to the current "Big Brother keeps little brother at arm's length" 'rivalry' the two teams currently have.
Again, their biggest challenge will be creating and maintaining a fanbase in a city where the Knicks have been firmly established for decades and have exciting players like Amar'e, Melo, and Chandler.

sam_amick Orlando PR man Joel Glass calls to inform that D. Howard's agent now has permission to speak w/ Lakers, Nets, & Mavs about possible trade.
WojYahooNBA The primary work on deal has been between Lakers and Hornets sides, sources say. Rockets still get Gasol, still move same parts. Odom to NO.

I don't understand why he's not interested in the Bulls. Him and Rose on the floor together. Plus, they have assets to move. I guess Reinsdorf's reputation is absolute garbage around the league.

Michael Olawakandi is probably the biggest bust in NBA history. When Oden plays, at least he's productive. Kandi Man? Not so much I wanted Mike f***ing Bibby! But no, the Clippers have to draft the Human Ebola Virus, because he's tall. It's a wonder how a couple of years later the Clippers made a brilliant move trading Tyson Chandler for Elton Brand.

Cuban made a big mistake in letting Chandler go. I cannot understand why he didn't just bite the bullet, resign him, and keep him around for he was the missing link we needed.

I've heard Chris Wilcox' name thrown around. Not exactly a center, but an athletic 6'10" PF that can rebound. And this team desperately needs athleticism. They've already got Jermaine in place, although you obviously can't count on him for much. At the moment, they're looking at the following: Starters: Rondo-Allen-Pierce-KG-O'Neal Bench: Dooling, Bass, Daniels and the two rookies. Still need to add another center and a PG. Surprisingly I haven't heard anything about Delonte West this offseason. They really need to find a way to keep him around. Well, if this West deal goes down and they lose O'Neal as well. I have no idea who Boston will have in the middle. But a 3-man rotation in the four spot of Garnett/West/Bass sounds as strong as it gets. I find it hard to believe West would be happy on the bench though.

I'm wondering if they're going to go small for the most part and roll out units with KG/West or KG/Bass. Either way, they've suddenly gone from zero depth at PF to insane depth at PF. Throw in Wilcox and his athleticism and they can go four deep at the position. Danny's been making tons of moves this offseason to keep this team competitive without locking them into any terrible contracts, and I love it.

Ha, yeah, I actually heard about that yesterday which is why I mentioned his name just now. They're also keeping Jeff Green after he signed his $5.8M qualifying offer. Unfortunately the Boston Herald now says the West deal is dead (it's hidden in the Daniels story) despite the fact that ESPN/Yahoo still say it's close to done. Looks like they'll revisit the deal today and try to get it done.

So with Chandler joining Amar'e and Carmelo, does that make the Knicks' starting frontcourt the overall scariest one in the league? Certainly makes it one of the tallest front lines in the nba. Chandler - 7'1'' Stoudamire - 6'11'' Melo - 6'8'' Add 6'11'' Jared Jeffries, 6'10" rookie James Harrellson and 7' Jerome Jordan, that's probably the tallest knick frontline in a very long time.
