I just found all of Zero's missions to be absolute wank. I completed them once on my 100% file, but that was it. You don't even get a decent reward for doing it!

Since I owned the first version on the PS2 (where the fuel can run out), it was even more aggrivating.
The controls were horrid, and the fact that you had a limited amount of time to be airborne was frustrating, especially if you managed to destroy and kill all of Berkley's runners and had to get back to Zero's RC.

I had more trouble with the 'All you had to do was follow the damn train' mission but let's leave that for another day. I wanted to kill Big Smoke earlier than the game scripted because of just how damn difficult that mission was and how pathetic a shot he was.

Is putting a cheat on so your cycle can fly so you can on the damn train in the mission and mow them down yourself because Big Smoke can't shoot worth a damn bad? Because I don't care if so.

I read on a FAQ that there was a trick that there was an NRG-500 in a garage somewhere and since it was so fast, one could jump on the roof of the train and just shoot the Vagos right there. I think I should try that.

Wait, there is another version where the fuel doesn't run out? There were two versions of San Andreas, and both incorporate the infamous "hot coffee" mod as a reason for why they are known as "First Version" and "Second Version". The first version that had the files incorporated had that fuel glitch (or did not, depending on how you look at it) in which the fuel can run out, but the second version that eliminated all of that coding had that issue modified to make it easier. Well, at that point of the game, I wasn't aware of any fast motorcycles, plus you couldn't leave Big Smoke behind, unfortunately.

It took me well over 60 tries to get this. The Zero missions drove me nuts and I still have "Damn you Berkley, dammmmmmmmmmnnnn youuuuuu!" haunting me.
I messed up the first try but I think on the second try by dumb luck I managed to get right to Zero's shop. I had maybe a split second to go. I then ran out of gas at the last possible moment. After that it took me about 58 tries.
I'm not a violent person but I swear if the designer of that level were in front of me, I would have actually punched him in the face.
Edit: I hated these comments you'd get from other characters after failing missions. The train one where that fat son of a bitch says what he does? I wanted to kill him a thousand times over.

For the Big Smoke mission that everybody is talking about here's a helpful tip. I struggled with this mission as well until I found it. When you're chasing after the train, DO NOT drive on the tracks themselves. That's mainly why Smoke can't get them. The grey outskirts on the tracks is where you need to be. Not on them, but next to them. Ever since I've found that out it's been easy as pie.
I despise Supply Lines. Couldn't the mission have just ended after you destroyed all the RC cars? The only thing more annoying than that was the Pilot Training school. It took me two weeks to do that thing, and what's the first mission after you complete it? A ****ing flying mission!

Oh dear God, I got your back, man. Flying in San Andreas SUCKS, and the bitch is, it keeps shoving it in your face! I don't want to fly, damn it! Also, Supply Lines makes no sense, as why can't CJ just do his normal way of doing buisness? The truck drivers die either way, so what the Hell?

I don't remember having much trouble with this Zero mission, but I can tell you the second I saw this thread I immediately thought of the Big Smoke mission everyone's mentioned. That thing is up there for me personally with beating Mysterio in the first Spiderman game and trying to win Combo in Jet Set Radio.
ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS FOLLOW THE DAMN TRAIN

I never had much trouble with the Smoke mission oddly enough, I always found it easier to ride the bikes in FPV, so I just held steady until he killed them. The lowrider mission though where you have to bounce in time, I seemed to completely lack rhythm at that part, took me ages to do.

Most of the SA annoying mission types were absent from GTA IV. The only one I had a problem with was the one where you had to chase the bikers through the subway tunnels. They seemed to be virtually bulletproof. But eventually I got them both.

I only do this mission to get the RC shop as an asset. Otherwise, I'm tempted to skip it entirely.
For Big Smoke, go to the right of the tracks, and if you have to, do the shooting yourself.

Yeah, I remember having trouble with that when the game was released, but then I found an MSPaint diagram on GameFAQs that showed where exactly to drive on the tracks so that Smoke could actually shoot the damn gangsters.

Going from GTA:SA to GTA:LCS is a huge drop in difficulty except for the "Taking the Peace" mission which also had a screwed up meter.

What's annoying is the fuel.
It must be the only controllable vehicle in the entire GTA series that had a fuel limit. That's like changing the rules during a middle of a match. You can't do that.
Every vehicle runs out of fuel, or none of them does.

As annoying as RC missions are, equally annoying are missions where you have to protect someone....who seems to insist on walking into a hail of gunfire or some other hazard.

Every vehicle runs out of fuel, or none of them does. I'm into micromanaging in games and such, so I would actually mark if you had random fuel assignments for jacked vechicles in GTA. I think it's an easy enough concept that's been overlooked. Then again, I try to justify storylines and realism/roleplay it up in most games like that I take a go at.
