Does Mr. Fuji still tearing tickets at a movie theater? I really couldn't believe that when I heard it If I were a movie goer and Fuji was there they should have paid the ticket price, took a seat near Fuji and stayed with him for two hours. Would be better than a two hour movie! Now for Shane Douglas and Justin Credible and whoever else has a job other than wrestling, they probably do it not just because they need money (not meaning they are destitute) but they do it because they have to do something or want to. There are many football and baseball players who have retired who have businesses or work 9-5 jobs. Former wrestlers can't just rely on a bookings, they may need to find something to do, to supliment more income for family and to give them something extra to do with their time.

At the moment. I'm training at home for a new job and while I have money to live comfortably for a while(like a Douglas or Credible) I am so incredibly bored most of the time. You can only watch some many movies, game shows, home improvment shows before you actually want to start working again. I have nothing but respect for anybody that goes out and finds work, don't blame any of them for staying busy or doing something they love(besides wrestling)

How dare someone make an honest living. Yeah, I guess it's funny because they used to be on TV and now they are working at an "inferior" job, but like a few people have said, these guys are probably making more money working at Wal-Mart than they were wrestling. Good on them.
Also, I've heard Shane Douglas stacks those shelves into obliviocry.

I wouldn't want Ian Rotten to fix my food. I guess you can call Taco Bell "food".

Former NFL and MLB players work because they want to. Something tells me that Shane Douglas(not knocking him) works at Wal-Mart because he has to. If you think about it, it is kind of sad. Not because they have to work for a living, just the fact that guys like Shane, Justin and others who have been around for 15-20 years in WCW, WWf etc... cannot even come close to competing with a 3rd string quarterback or a relief pitcher, in terms of salary. After that many years in such a demanding and highly publicized profession you would think they would have something to show for it.

If you think a former wrestling star having to get a "regular" job after their career is over is funny, go to the Toyota dealership Haku works at and taunt him about it.

I wouldn't want Ian Rotten to fix my food. He'd tell you they were out of chalupas, and then two months later he'd try to sell you "new and improved" chalupas for twice the original price.

It's not funny, it's kinda of sad. They either never made enough money as pro's or they blew most of it. You would think that Haku, a guy who spent many years in big companies/territories would have enough money to retire comfortably without having to sell Toyota's for a living.

He was probably making low six figures before taxes. Then you deduct airfare and hotel costs. Unless you were a huge name, you were probably living an upper middle-class lifestyle while putting some money away if you were lucky. There were no pensions back then, and I doubt there's a 401K now. Most guys are done by their late 30's/early 40's; even with a pension/401K, they still have 20 or so years before retirement age. Again, aside from the biggest of names, you'd pretty much have to get another job unless you got an agent/commentary/manager type role.
