Let me know the last time Kelly Kelly pulled off a hurricanrana off of the top rope. From what I understand the hurricanrana is actually more dependent on the person receiving it flipping themselves, than the one giving it. So Sable had little to do with that.

As Cornette would say, "the female Ultimate Warrior". Couldn't work, couldn't talk, she had looks but the credit for that should be going to her plastic surgeon. I don't know what McMahon and Russo got for pushing her so hard but it should of been 3 to 5 years.

She was really good at perfecting high spots in matches, but she didn't know how to build a match. Her beginnings and middles were suspect, but her endings were great.

Why are people impressed with her powerbomb? It took no skill to do it on her end. Go youtube the one she gave Mark Mero. Mero is practically giving it to himself. All Sable had to do was stand there.

Sable was a terrible wrestler, but I still had the hots for me when I was a kid so none of that mattered. She also seemed to have a bit more--not a ton, but a bit more--going on behind the eyes than Kelly, who looks like there's nothing but cobwebs and dust there. Speaking of Sable, remember the WWF video in which she did an ab workout and the camera focused on how heaving her bosom was? Also, that RAW issue with her in nothing but a bicycle chain? God, I miss being a 14-year-old. Why are people impressed with her powerbomb? It took no skill to do it on her end. Go youtube the one she gave Mark Mero. Mero is practically giving it to himself. All Sable had to do was stand there. Just saw it again and that Sable Bomb did look pretty sweet from Sable's end. She moved back properly and it didn't have a botchy feel. Yes, give Mero credit, but if Sable was so bad, she would have screwed up.

I'm not one to come to K2's side, but there are times when she does try to do something different and she still gets trashed no matter what even when you can tell she's trying. Not everyone is going to be like the girls of 10 years ago. People need to stop with that mentality.

Yes, give Mero credit, but if Sable was so bad, she would have screwed up. In her shoot when asked if Sable was a good wrestler, Ivory did say all that mattered was that she never injured anyone in the ring. She never injured anyone with that powerbomb, so at least she could execute moves safely...and she got credit from Ivory of all people...who tends to be very... opinionated when it comes to female talent.

In hindsight, no matter how talented you are, not injuring people is probably the best trait to have.

It's funny, I've only ever seen two Sable matches in the twelve years I've been watching. One of them was against Tori and the other against Torrie. Weird. Anyway, relative to her opponents in those matches, Sable was sort of blandly competent. Like the ladies' version of Billy Gunn.

It doesn't matter how good a worker she was, because she was over, which is more than you can say about most of the ladies these days.

I was twelve during Sable's prime, so her wrestling abilities were like... the eighth most important thing about her to me. Looking back on some of her matches today, I would say while she wasn't good, she also wasn't the worst by any means. If anything, I would almost compare her with a younger Jeff Hardy, in that she was insanely popular (especially with the opposite sex) and could hit high spots when needed, but had little to no mat skills, bad mic skills, and couldn't lead anyone through a match.
That said, at the time Sable was still the best choice to hold the Woman's Title. Luna and Jacqueline may have been better wrestlers, but they didn't have even half of Sable's popularity, and they also would have had no one else to feud with besides Sable herself. Chyna hadn't started wrestling yet, Sunny, Debra and Marlena never wrestled and probably would have been worse than Sable if they had tried, and that was really all they had for divas until Tori showed up.

Sable is a great mystery to me. I thought she was lousy in the ring, lousy on the mic, and as someone on this forum once put it, "looked like someone's bitchy aunt," not this unbelievably hot chick they tried to present her as being.
I know she was way over at the time, but I will never understand it.

Sounds fair to me.

I know she was way over at the time, but I will never understand it. That really is a pretty funny description for her. Yeah, can't say I was a big fan of her, either. Luna had her work cut out for her getting her to look worth a damn.
