The only thing that confuses me about the media's love for Cam is how he gets praised for being a running QB, while Tebow gets criticized for being the same thing. Is Newton a better passer right now? I don't see how you can say he's not, but it's just weird how they both run and one gets praised and one gets knocked for it. I have an opinion on why this happens as far as former NFL players go, but it probably will get deleted if I said it. I think I know what you mean, and I'm not sure if that plays a part in it or not. Either way I really don't care, both are good QBs IMO, it's just kind of weird is all. Leading up to and after the draft they said Tebow wasn't a real QB for running, but Cam is looked at as a versatile threat because he runs.

He's a pure runner, Newton can do both. Tebow isn't as versatile right now, except late game when the Broncos have successfully tired the defense out. A pure running QB hasn't won a Super Bowl that I know of, and Tebow is a pure running QB right now. The only criticism I've heard of Tebow in regards to his running is that his style of play is going to shorten his career, because he'll get hit more as a running QB than as a passing or dual threat. And while his religion might play a part in some people not liking him, I don't think it has any bearing in how sports commentators have treated him after college.

Just to give some context from another country...
Me and my Dad (who doesn't watch every game, or follow every result), watched the Patriots at Denver a couple of weeks ago.
Ok, he couldn't BELIEVE (neither could I but I'm used to it) the focus on one player, as in the coverage he got on CBS/FOX/SKY...what ever it was. It's ridiculous how one player can monopolies an entire game of 100+ players.
But then again, any Green Bay/Jet/Viking fan will tell you, this is exactly how the media/broadcasters focused on Favre.
Basically it was, going to commercial, Tebow shot. A punt, Tebow, a Field Goal, Tebow, an injury, Tebow. This during three hours is pathetic. I don't get it.
But then I lived through Favre-mania so I expect this kind of lunacy from the broadcasters of the NFL.
I'm sorry this was long-winded but I just had to say my piece.

Oh no, that's not what I was thinking, I was thinking about what Warren Moon had said a while back - none of which I believed, but it was there.

Cowboys placed P Mat McBriar on injured reserve with a left foot injury, ending his season.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports Chargers owner Dean Spanos is struggling to reach a decision on GM A.J. Smith's future with the team.
According to "some in and around the organization," Spanos is reluctant to "completely start over," and may decide to retain Smith despite two straight disappointing seasons. The wide perception amongst the San Diego media is that coach Norv Turner will not be brought back. The Union-Tribune also reports Smith remains a candidate for the likely general manager opening in St. Louis if he's cut loose by the Chargers.

I've accepted the fact the Packers will give the Lions a charity win thus ending the 20 year winning streak against the Lions in Wisconsin but if Matt Flynn can win with mainly 2nd stringers against Detroit's starting lineup and send them back to New Orleans for the 1st round of the playoffs then that'll be great.

Depends on whether or not the Packers wanna play the Lions for a 3rd time. If the Lions win and get the 5th seed, there is a very good chance they will beat the winner of the Cowboys/Giants game. As for the 3/6 game, nobody is beating New Orleans. That would put Detroit up against Green Bay in the Divisional round. If I'm Mike McCarthy and don't wanna play the Lions in the playoffs, I beat their ass now.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Norv Turner is expected to be among the Jets' top offensive coordinator targets this offseason.

I know it's a complete toss-up because it's the Colts, but do I start Addai or Donald Brown at RB today?
