I always been the type to text. Me and my friends all like that. I believe it allows me to have a conversation while I do something else. The times I call someone I run out of things to say after maybe 20 minutes in person it be a different story. What say you do u prefer to call someone or text them instead?

I hate talking on the phone, and it gives me a chance to proof read anything I say.

I'd much rather talk to someone. Texting I'll use if I need to but I prefer to avoid it.

Texting if it's something short, like asking if they want me to pick them up anything. Calling if it's anything longer than that.

I hate talking on the phone, and it gives me a chance to proof read anything I say. This. I have text conversations that last throughout the whole day rather than a 20 minute phone call that may get boring after 5...

I'll call if I'm sure I can get them on the phone right there. If I think I'll likely be leaving a message, I'll text.

I hate talking on the phone. Hate it. Before text messaging, I just never talked to people. Now that texting exists, I have a means to talk to my friends. Hurray!

I text or BBM mostly. I'll only call if it's something of importance.

To me, texting is supposed to be for short, quick, simple things that making a phone call for would just be a waste. Things like saying you're running a little late or that you're about to leave work. I absolutely hate people who insist on hold long, drawn out, complicated conversations on them. My ex-girlfriend used to do that, and it's one of the many many reasons I hate her now. If what you're saying is gonna require more then one sentence or require some kind of significant back and forth then pick up the damn phone and call them.

I hate talking on the phone. I've always preferred to send texts as that's the way the majority of my friends are too.

Well, I prefer to text, mostly because like some have said, talking can sometimes get boring after a few minutes. However, it almost seems like texting has overtaken the verbal form of communication. Sometimes, people even send an audio message if they don't want to call to make a voicemail.
By the way, even though there are laws and fines for this, I don't understand why people drive and text. Don't people know how dangerous that is?

Not a big texting fan. Phone's were made for TALKING!!!!!. I cant stand it when people try and have full length conversations via texting. If I get a text more often than not I wont answer it till much later.

I rarely talk on the phone, so I vote texting. To be honest though, I prefer talking in-person over anything.

If I get a text more often than not I wont answer it till much later. You know, there was a joke I heard on a Boondocks episode when someone was using an app on a phone and someone said "Is there an app on there that can have you call someone?" I laughed when I heard that because cellphones these days make the use for calling almost non-existent.

If it's more than 3 texts, it's easier and more productive to just talk.
Just my opinion.

Text all the way. I'm even one of those guys that will text someone I am in the room with if there is a party or something, just to keep the conversation private.

I prefer texting, but sometimes I get annoyed with back and forth conversations and just go ahead and call. For me, texting is better for one or two messages back and forth, and anything more than that, I'd rather just call.
