No really, I'd like to know why you think he's overrated? A large amount of the fans and almost all of his peers say he's the best of all time. Hes overrated because he has been widely accepted as the "hands down greatest announcer ever" and he isn't. At least IMO. The last 10 years, alot of his commentating has been just relevant to screaming, shouting, overexaggerating. Hes not overrated in the sense of all time. His overratedness really comes from his WWE work IMO. Ross is "overrated" because he's the best announcer that people knew growing up. Most people that grew up with Gordon Solie (for example) commentating, claim that Solie is the greates of all time - including Jim Ross. JIM ROSS DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS BEING FIRED ON MONDAY by Mike Johnson @ 9:26 PM on 10/12/2011 Yes, you read that one correctly. Jim Ross was interviewed by Yahoo Sports Radio earlier today regarding a number of topics and when the angle where he was removed once again from announcing Monday Night Raw was brought up, Ross stated that he didn't know it was coming. Ross commented: "No, no idea whatsoever. It came as a complete surprise. My wife, we're celebrating our eighteenth anniversary today, none of us knew. It took me completely by surprise. It was one of those embarrassing moments you endure and move on. It's like anything else in life - when you get faced with a challenge or an uncomfortable situation, you have to make some choices on how you handle it." Wheb asked if it was just a storyline, Ross responded, "If it is, no one has told me about the storyline. I just think WWE upper management has made the decision, again, to go with a different presentation at the announce position and I'm not in the plans. So, we move on." Thanks to Billy Krotchsen. I for one am stunned that Ross denied that it was a storyline. Stunned.

You can throw money at charity and do benevolent things for communities, but at the end of the day, it's stuff like this that makes you realize that people are complicated, and are much harder to define than simply good or evil.
I still to this day have no idea how I'm supposed to feel about Vince.

How is he overrated? Please enlighten me? God forbid someone has an opinion! (Not aimed at you, just the general 'OH MY GOD!! JR CAN DO NO WRONG!' crowd) I love JR and RAW doesn't seem 'right' without him but I can see why people don't like him. Cole does the job just fine when he's not being a character and he's not 'putting himself over'. The problem is that's 99% of his gimmick. Cole is a disaster on commentary and would be better placed as a manager for a heel.

Just saw this -- WWE.com has a video up of Jim Ross storming off after being fired this past Monday night on RAW while fielding questions from the cameraman about how it felt being fired in his home state and if fans felt that John Laurinaitis was more attractive than him. I did a spit take laughing at that. What the hell kind of question is that? See? It's a work. Why else would they even ask that question if not to make Laurinaitis seem like a massive douche for having it asked?

It didn't add anymore distaste for Johnny Ace that anyone had, all it did was lower the quality of commentary again.

Of course it's a work, they just ribbed JR once again by not telling him before hand. It's just par for the course with JR and WWE.

The way JR has been talking about Johnny Ace on Twitter makes me think it's a work.

The "JR you're fired" storyline, angle, segment.... whatever you'd like to phrase it got old ten years ago. They've done it time after time since. I don't understand their reasoning to keep doing it, especially in JR's home state. Maybe it's just to humiliate him. Maybe it's a rib... work or shoot. Whatever the reasoning, it wasn't necessary. Shocked that Ace didn't have him kiss his ass.

"WWE Did You Know?"
Jim Ross has now been fired more times than George Jetson, Fred Flintstone and all Three Stooges combined!

They fire JR every other week but they keep Lawler and book him in WWE Title programs.
WTF is going on with the people in charge of the WWE?
