ble image??
I think in around summer of 98, his weight gain was really starting to get noticably, he was starting to look more fat looking than tough. Him losing clean to Sting at the GAB 98 (A guy who is a foot shorter than him) made him look like a wimp. Also during that summer he jobbed to Goldberg almost every night. That summer he was Sting's and Goldberg's bitch.
But the nail in the coffin was when he was farting his brains out in the bathroom after eating Eddie Guerero's burritos. He looked like a clown in that angle. What do you guys think?
He could have been Goldberg before Goldberg, but instead he decided to eat like a SLOB and get lazy in the ring.

When he jobbed to Steve Austin, clean on like his 2nd night in the company.

WCW actually did a decent job with Big Show. WWF were the ones who really tried to ruin him.
*Had him debut as someone who couldn't get the job done *Not in a match at WrestleMania *Turns face, then heel, then face, then heel all in his first year with the company *Ridiculous Big Boss Man storyline *Lost the WWF title on an episode of Raw *Turned face again and started doing impersonations *Turned heel again, only to be sent down to OVW *Makes a return at Royal Rumble, only to be put into the Hardcore title division *Does absolutely nothing during the Invasion despite being a former WCW Champion *Joins the nWo only to be kicked out and treated like a joke *Gets drafted to Raw and loses to everybody on the roster
Thankfully his career has stabilised since late 2002 and he's no longer a joke who can easily be moved down near the bottom of the card.

I am still mad that WWF killed Show most of the time. When Show is booked right, which is very easy to do, he's amazing.
Example, at Survivor Series once, they had the Smackdown vs. Raw main event. Big Show was one of the first guys in, and JBL immediately gave him a clothesline from hell. Show then took about four more finishers from various guys, JBL tagged back in, gave him ANOTHER clothesline, and then Rey pinned him after dropping the dime.
Even though I can't stand ANY time Rey pins the guy, at least Show took like six finishers before he went down. THAT is how you book someone like Show. Monster heels are sustainable if you do it right. They dont' have to wrestle often, and they should lose even less.
If you book Big Show to lose to a non-heel Rey Mysterio, ESPECIALLY clean, then you are an idiot. Show should murder Rey in every encounter unless the match is perfectly booked.

He started going downhill shortly after he debuted.
I don't get why WWF/E didn't use him right.
It shouldn't be that hard to book a guy that looks like him.

When he jobbed to Steve Austin, clean on like his 2nd night in the company. I recently started watching some of the 99 RAW's, and that match that everyone talks about where Austin just pinned him clean.... yeah, there was nothing clean about it? Mick Foley was guest referee, and constantly and openly attacked Big Show and helped Austin. Austin had to use a chair repeatedly to be able to finally hit the stunner, which he attempted 3 times but Big Show just threw him off. This was also the go home show to Wrestlemania 15.

When he jobbed to Steve Austin, clean on like his 2nd night in the company. Yup, right then they started booking him as 'just another superstar'. They've given him stints where he's recaptured some of the mystique- chokeslamming Taker through the ring; his quite good ECW run, but he's never been THE monster in WWE since the get-go.

they really re established him during his time with vickie and while he was with miz and jericho and I at least still see him as pretty unstoppable. its all about the booking you can make him as badass as you want and people will get behind him. look at Henry.

They actually had turned him back into a cool monster in ECW in 2006. He was having great matches every week, and was believeble as a big scary dude.
Then, WHILE he was still ECW champ, he got humiliated by DX, and then Lashley single handedly destroyed him in the Elimination Chamber.

Same thing with Kane.

When Austin buried him. Anyone unstoppable always loses it because they have to, because it's a dead end. Eh, I think Undertaker's been able to hold onto it fairly successfully.

Also, lets not forget Knucklehead didn't really help his tough guy image. He looked like a big oaf in that movie poster.

Well, he is, I think sometimes he gets caught between two worlds, and WWE isn't sure if they should take advantage of his size as a monster, or his personality as a funny goofball.
