I love how we're all verbally attacking a guy based on some unsubstantiated rumours on a website.
Who says he's run down? Who says he's tired, "senile" etc? The guy is still running the biggest wrestling promotion in the world and could still kick every one of our asses.
But, of course, some hack "journalist" mentions that "some people in WWE" have commented on his mental health, so Vince MUST retire 'cos he's old and mad, right??
Jeeez.

Vince admitting to be part of the drug scene of the 80s, on that HBO interview with Costas. Its not really "unsubstiated" and I think there is no doubt hes a heavy roid user. What other 60 year olds are on the cover of Muscle and Fitness?

The XFL would have worked if NBC didn't give up on it after one season. It was hemorrhaging money and setting record lows for ratings. They didn't have a choice but to drop it ASAP. Yes, that is to be expected when you're in the first year of a sports league. That's why when you get a second year you get to do things like fine tuning and building reputation. When you do those things you start to get backers and are able to sell merch. It was complete short sightedness by NBC to not at least run the second season. What's the worst that can happen, you lose some money? The reward was definitely worth the risk.

I still can't see nothing bad with JR firing, it was to gave JL some heat, and it was just a worked firing, JR has received worse and I'm pretty damn sure that he really don't cares since he knows really well how the business works when you are screwing a beloved face

He should have stepped down years ago. .. Guess he doesn't really trust anyone to run the show. What is he? 66 years old? From all reports, Vince is completely nuts, erratic, and senile. For god sakes man, retire. I doubt he needs the money. Its obvious he is out of touch with today's society, and really isn't the "wrestling genius" anymore. Look at the product today I mean they are still making money but creative wise in terms of the midcard, and top angles they are a cluster**** The midcard for years now has meant jack diddly squat. They continue to waterdown the ME scene and never pull the trigger on anything. They have been creatively stagnant for over 10 years now. Really the last truly compelling creative that I saw was back in 2000. He lets the REAL wrestling geniuses like Heyman go.. And puts some useless waste of space like his daughter in charge creatively or Lauinitis or Gerwitz? They need to be in charge creatively or with talent relations like I need to be the head of NASA. All you have to do is look at what they did to Punk or the Nexus or even the invasion or the midcard in general, and that right there is WWE creative in a nutshell these days. They should be lucky there is no direct competitor these days.. If there were, I wouldn't be surprised if WWE either died entirely or had to retreat back to the northeast. Because of the type of programming they got going now, no way could survive. There is no Austin or Rock around to save them. Cena, Orton, Punk ( the way they dropped the ball creatively on him), Del Rio etc.. just aren't enough Jeez, fella. Give Vince a break. He's been running things for about 40 years with no breaks. He's allowed to feel burned out. Is everything WWE does perfect? Not by a long shot. But they do turn out about ten hours of first run television every week. How many television shows only run a half hour of first run television each week and quickly run out of ideas? What do you mean by "there is no direct competitor?" What about TNA? Hell, they tried to go toe to toe with WWE on Monday nights and they got slaughtered and sent back to Thursday nights with their tails tucked between their legs. Paul Heyman is not God's gift to wrestling. If he was, his company would still be in business and Vince McMahon would be working for him. His company failed. They had a good run, but they failed.

Vince McMahon is a genius, first and foremost. Sure he's had some failures, but what entrepreneur hasn't? For every WBF and XFL, there's Summerslam, Wrestlemania and the Royal Rumble.
He is heralded as the greatest wrestling promoter of all time. And with go reason. His company will go on long after he's gone.
Its possible that he may be worn down as he is a workhorse, as he's also 66 some years old. But that his passion in wrestling is gone? Hogwash. McMahon IS wrestling.

The XFL would of worked better if they would of not had wrestling invloved with it the rock shouldnt open up the show with a promo. the ratings for the first XFL game where huge but the none wrestling fans saw a whole bunch of wrestling it hurt it, also i think the damn near porn levles of cheerleaders kinnda hurt

The problem is it needed more time instead of trying to be so big right away. The UFL is the proper approach of slowly building instead of going Network and going right after the NFL

Vince has been working crazy hours year round for nearly 30 years now. That alone is enough to wear down anyone. I hope that if/when I reach 66 I'm still as passionate and able to do things like Vince does.
I say that there is no way that he's lost his passion for wrestling. He's just getting older.

I still think Vince should step down and let someone that isn't Stephanie or Burials take his spot. A big part of me feels Shane would've been perfect to replace him.

Has Vince ever explained as to what he has against professional wrestling, and why he feels the need to take on all these outside projects despite the fact that they keep failing? It doesn't seem like Vince has anything against wrestling. He's just always wanted to be a more powerful person in the overall world of entertainment. He wanted a football league, a movie studio, a bodybuilding federation, a record label, and now his own channel in addition to his wrestling company, not instead of it. On a personal note, I've always believed that had these outside endeavours been more successful, we would have had less "comedy" and cartoonish stuff in WWE and it would have been a little more of an old school wrestling promotion if he had other outlets for comedy and stuff.

Compared to what I've seen previously, firing JR and then allowing him to walk backstage with no further humilation is relatively mild.
