I'm going to be so sad if they don't keep "Hero" in Chris Hero's name. It's such a great name, and all his signature moves kinda revolve around it.

I'm just hoping that Lawler's feud with Mcgillitunga leads to Hero and Antonio debuting.

One more thing I just realized....
Punk was a one off signing from the indies. Same with Dragon, Cabana and Bourne. None of them were signed that close to each other, it just seemed like almost coincidence, really.
In the past year, WWE has signed Tyler Black, Jon Moxley, Claudio, and almost definitely Hero. They;ve also given tryout matches to The Bucks, Scorpio Sky, and Joey Ryan.
IS it possible that Talent Relations has started doing their damn job?

I'm guessing they see how successful Punk has gotten and want to sign more indy guys.

Add in the fact that if you are a top level indie wrestler it would be much more beneficial to go the the WWE as opposed to TNA. And just a small plus, a lot of these guys grew up on the WWF. It has a prestige that if you can make it there then you really are the pinnacle of the sport.

Ricardo Rodriguez said on twitter that there was a new guy in FCW who was very impressive and that we're going to like him. Lost to Richie Steamboat. As I recall, he hasn't said who it was yet, but sounds like Claudio.

I know it pisses me off to hear people still call D-Bryan "Danielson" after all this time, but he'll be Claudio to me for a LONG time. That being said, the name is awesome. I'll do my best to call him Antonio from now on

The guys pick their names from all accounts. From many reports...guys that at least have a little pull and respect from management....do get to pick their ring names. Some do get saddled with a name however...I can't help but think McGuilty for not keeping the family name didn't choose that crap. I do like the name Antonio Cesaro. The reason many guys opt not to use their ring names is they don't want to sign over all of their rights knowing WWE won't let them retain their name. Now say in the case of Christian where he had proof he had used a similar name prior to WWE he could keep his name only changing it slightly. Punk signed over his name to get with WWE....big risk that's now giving a big payoff.

Still wish they'd let them keep their names! Drives me nuts! Chris Hero's new name will be Burt Finklehorn. They probably didn't want to sign their old names over to WWE.

This has probably been answered hundreds of times, but how come CM Punk got to keep his name? Did he just agree to let WWE own it? Or did he manage to get in before WWE started insisting on owning names?

In keeping with the royalty theme (Cesaro has to be a nod to the KoW, right?) I predict Hero comes in as Christophe LeRoi.

The name is good, just under the quality of Claudio.
To be honest I don't think I needed to make that point at all, but otherwise this post would have just said YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Over and over and over again. Pretty damned happy about this.
