Inspired by this thread, I'm re-watching the "History of the WWF" video (and re-watching it again... and again) for the first time in years. You just get chills throughout, so many awesome moments and edits, like the divas from Moolah to Trish, the spinning Macho Man - Shawn Michaels - Kurt Angle sequence, or the Peter Maivia - Rocky Johnson - The Rock part. Still just as amazing.

Ya know I never actually liked Creed except during those videos.

My favorite was the history of WWE at MSG set to Empire State of Mind by Alicia Keys.

The WM X7 one was great, but I'm probably one of the few people that actually likes the WM XIX Austin/Rock video better.

Jeff Hardy to "Rooftops" is just AMAZING. I get chills everytime I see it. I agree that that one is a great video, but of the two Jeff Hardy specific videos, I've always preferred the one with "Not Enough" by Our Lady Peace. I think that video encapsulates being a Jeff Hardy fan before his WWE Title win; feeling like the guy is trying so hard, but just can't win the big one. It is able to be both triumphant and heartbreaking at the same time.

"History of the WWF" was always a great one, with Kid Rock being the music, creating what is probably the finest thing the WWE have produced for television.
Then Wrestlemania 25...

The My Sacrifice 'Desire' one they used towards the end of 2001 (I think) with the final frames being HHH's carrying off, is my favourite of all time.

One of the best video packages they ever did was the Freddie Blassie memorial one.
They spliced in the footage of him sitting in alone some old wrestling hall that they had used prior for a PPV video package (cant recall which PPV) and clips/photos of him. Then at the end it has him pushing through the doors into the light.
Just fantastic.

Also great from this time was Kurt Angle's surgery/recovery set to "Clocks" by Coldplay which effectively turned him from hated heel to the biggest babyface in the company in 3 minutes.

As far as recent video packages go, there is one that stands out as...well AWESOME!
And you can hate him now.

As far as recent video packages go, there is one that stands out as...well AWESOME! And you can hate him now. Before I saw that I was still not bought on him as a champ, that video alone changed my mind. And it's funny that he's the heel but it's got so much of a motivational "be yourself, screw the haters, if they don't get it they aren't worth the trouble" message to it. I also loved how the "I had to hustle hard, never give up, until I made it..." showing he busted his ass to get where he is and yet he isn't going to beat people over the head with it ala Cena. Not to other ones... I always loved Austin's HoF "Cult of Personality" video. Add me to the "Lonely Road of Faith" list. I also thought it was neat when they did the NWO parody version of it, making the NWO seem like a serious threat to it all (if only it was executed about a hundred times better). And yes, they really need to do a new one. I've always said if I were to ever put a WWF/E video together myself, Dream Theater's "Pull Me Under" would be high on the list of songs I used. And I usually don't cry at the WWF/E videos (didn't during Lonely Road of Faith...had more of a "F*** YEAH!" reaction to that one), but Macho's tribute video had me balling. It went with the sad, slow version of Pomp and Circumstance and instantly had me tearing up, then it got to be just an awesome tribute of him and his career that just reminded you how amazing he was. Then even though it was Coldplay, by the end I was just in tears, I couldn't hold it. Even now, pulling it up now on Youtube (first time since I saw that Raw that i've seen it) about it I've had to stop and wipe my eyes a couple of times.

Yeah but did he have a church choir?

WWE's always had some pretty awesome packages, but man, right around this time (and for a couple years before & after this) they really made some memorable ones, between these, the HHH "Beautiful Day" one, and of course, Rock/Austin's "My Way" package. Yeah the HHH and Austin/Rock are two of my favourites. I don't like Creed at all but their style of music went well with the videos.
