not trying to step on toes, but how long shall we give next week's presenter to choose/inform us of his film choice before we should consider replacing him? Have you PMed him? |

I'm also concerned about that big block of emptiness from August 25 to September 30. I suggest bumping every one up if they're ready for it in the event a movie isn't selected.

yeah, I'm def. gonna PM everyone in that big block within the next week or two, see if any interest is still held by any of the lot.
As for next week, since Hawkeye doesn't seem interested, I'll PM Irontyger and see if he's cool with being bumped up a week. If he's not, I may just do Apocalypse Now....then and then either bump everyone from the 25th and beyond up a week, or I'll let one of the other more "regulars"(essentially you(bob) or boilerroombrawler) take that week, if you want.

And to confirm, I'll do Billy Wilder's Stalag 17, for next week if next week's presenter doesn't get in touch with the group. |

Suggestion: what if we created a master list of names so that when we start a new thread, we can send mass PMs to all members. Furthermore, a mass PM could probably help figure out who will stay in the club.

I'm gonna start being a little more diligent (perhaps to the point of being considered 'anal') about that big block of August/September nothingness. So yeah, if you're scheduled to present between the 19th of August and the 23rd of September, expect a PM from me probably ~2 weeks before you present. For the sake of everybody involved, please actually respond to the PM once you get it(or, even better, choose your movie now/soon so that I don't even have to get on ya about it  ) even if it's to tell me you can't/don't want to do it. It's a lot easier to find a replacement movie/presenter with 1-2 weeks notice than 1-2 days, ya dig? And while I like that we don't really have "rules" per say, I considering making one of the few rules that you have to give us at least a week's notice as to what your film is(ie: I'm presenting on the 12th, so today, the 5th, would be the last day for me to update the schedule). While most of the films have been easy to obtain thus far, some of them may not be, and it's just easier for everyone involved to have ~ a week to get our proverbial ducks in a row, so to speak. Also, Guyofownage. I feel you. I was hoping more posters would have a chance to do "themed" weeks(ie: horror movies around Halloween, X-Mas movies in December, etc). The scheduling SNAFUs have been bugging me, as well. However, there is a silver-lining in all of this. Since a couple people have been bumped from the schedule, your original date(10/28) is now vacant, so by all means, you're allowed to go back to that week if you so wish to. It'll leave your new week open, but we'll cross that bridge once we get there. Once we figure out what's going on with this big block of August/September posters, we'll open it up for "round 2" of film presentation weeks. Just don't see much of a point right now, when we may have to bump everyone up anywhere from 1-5 weeks because of lack of interest. Hopefully we can also get some new blood,too(not that I don't love everyone who's been participating so far. GoO, bob, Miz, BRB, and others who I'm unfortunately forgetting, you've been downright awesome) |

This is just an idea but how many people here would be interested in doing a FAN Movie Club podcast to coincide with the movies we are watching? We could talk about the movie of the week and we can alternate who is on the podcast from week to week if enough people are interested.
Basically the format would be talk about just general movies we saw in the last week and give mini reviews on them and then we go into the FAN Movie Club movie for that week and have a discussion on it that would include spoilers.
Anyone interested?

normally I'd be down, but it looks as though I'm going to be pretty busy with work & school starting on the 20th, so I can't really commit to any more extra-cirriculars until I know just how busy my day-to-day is going to be

Hm... How would we get every participant on the podcast? Phone line? Send recorded clips?
I have wanted to do a podcast for years; I even have the equipment; but I've never felt qualified enough to discuss much of anything. Ah well, if this happens and I have the means to participate, I'm down.

Finally got around to adding a movie. I do apologize for not being more involved with this. I definitely plan on changing that.
If anyone has trouble getting the movie I picked, I have no problem changing it to something else.
