Vintage Phil Hughes this afternoon. 80+ pitches needed to get through 4 innings, and the Yankee offense continues to be turd-tastic.

I'm hoping I can get Tyfo in here tomorrow to talk some good-natured shit about my M's. Our Rangers-Mariners rivalry must live on!
Let's see if I still got the hang of this:

So where did Cashman have it in his mind that Raul Ibanez was somehow better than Carlos Pena?
I mean, at least for the simple reason that Pena always mashes against the Yankees may be a reason to sign the guy?

I doubt Cashman thought Ibanez was better than Pena, but he did probably think the $6M difference in salary was a large price to pay for a DH against RHP.

As long as Ibanez doesn't spend significant time in the field then he might be worth the investment. But geez, if something happens where Raul has to play any amount time out there, look out.

Marlins lose, and the world is a better place.

I already love Padilla's eephus pitch. Going from a 54 MPH curve to a 93 MPH fastball must be tough on a hitter.
3 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 4 K, 0 BB. Exactly what this team needed.

That's right, Girardi. Because Boone Logan is better against righties than he is on lefties.
Idiot.

Daniel Schlereth, you just served up a line drive double to Nick Punto. Hang your head in shame.

SWEEEEEEP!
Mets are 3-0. Francisco 3-3 with a 0 ERA. Good start for a guy who has a gimpy leg.

Daniel Schlereth, you just served up a line drive double to Nick Punto. Hang your head in shame. Don't worry, I did it for him. It was very weird listening to this game driving back to school. It went from great to horrible to okay. Scherzer had an awful outing, but hopefully he can bounce back (he doesn't have the best track record against Boston). We got some good offensive production early, but once Padilla came in for Buchholz, it just stopped. Our bullpen hasn't been too bad, outside of Schlereth, who I'm not particularly fond of to start. I just hope Villarreal can get out of this jam unscathed, and the Tigers can come back late.

get out the brooms because the mets have swept the braves That's eight straight losses heading back to September. I fully expect Craig Kimbrel to fire the ball into the left field stands when they finally nail a win down.

This is the second time this season that a Rays batter has attempted a bunt with two strikes. I don't get it.

So, buy your tickets now for the 2012 World Series featuring the Seattle Mariners and the New York Baseball Mets! ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) (But seriously, that would be an awesome series. A lot of my mom's side is from Long Island, and she grew up just 15 minutes outside of Seattle).
