The guy has an angle with the Bellas, gets pushed off the WM 27 card, wins MITB, jobs to Wade Barrett at Summerslam, wrestles on Superstars and NXT for months on end (or maybe not, but I know he sure jobbed a lot), and now he's World Heavyweight Champion..
...Yeah.
And the thing is, is that they're trying to build his win up like it was something special, when really all he did was hand someone a briefcase and pin an unconscious man.
I like Bryan and the LeBell Lock for that matter. But I'm just not buying into this reign at all. Granted, they'll probably make it long, which is good if that involves D-Bry making people tap out. Maybe he'll face Sheamus at WM?
I guess part of me thinks first World title win should have been something really special. Something better than what we got, anyway... Oh well.

His reign will be worse than Swagger's.

It would be nice if his first championship feud wasn't against two people who will maim him mercilessly.

For some reason they think yo-yo booking is a way to make main eventers. Giving guys a main event run "test" does them more harm then good.
The MITB PPV was a bad idea because it creates too many new champs. Winning the belt is alot easier than it used to be. People complained about hot shotting the title in the Attitude era but it's worse now because of the two titles.

The MITB cash in, while serving as a vehicle to get Bryan as champion, left a sour taste in my mouth, as its this big babyface celebration over pinning an unconscious face.

WWE has had the last six months to build up Bryan as a credible world champion/title contender. And they blew it. Big time.
It's no wonder he gets virtually no reaction when he makes his entrance.

His reign will be worse than Swagger's. It's already better than Swagger's, since I can't remember Swagger doing one thing of note during the entire run besides "The Swaggie". D Bry's made Del Rio tap and will more than likely do the same to Big Show and Mark Henry at some point.

Swagger did beat Orton clean during his reign. Then he was made Mysterio's bitch.
They've made a good start with Bryan by having him actually go over guys, but they really should've done so before he cashed in. Anyway, I'm a cynic by nature, so I don't expect it to last.

I love Daniel... I don't think he needs the title now... Maybe in two Years but not now, it will do nothing for him. He needs to establish himself more , build himself up a story or a quest.
I still marked out when he won

As much as I like Bryan, I have to agree.
The awfiul build up has made it so that I honestly can't buy Bryan beating Big Show or Mark Henry. I think Bryan could really benefit from Regal managing, Regal can do the talking for Bryan and, help Bryan pick up wins with distractions and the Power of the Punch (Could keep Bryan a face whilst doing it as long as they only cheat heels. The crowd seemed to love Regal using his dirty tactics as a face on NXT)

I really wanted Bryan to win the title, but not this way.I just couldn't feel his title win,I'd probably mark out a lot more if he won at Mania.TLC just wasn't the right choice IMO.

As bad as they were booking Bryan before his cash-in, I don't think it automatically means he'll have a crappy reign. Keep giving him wins against a few big name stars and make his title reign last for at least a few months, and people will forget all about his previous losing streak.

Exactly. Bryan has all the tools to be a Bret Hart-esque world champion some day, but they spoiled it by rushing his win and giving him literally zero push before winning. This is nothing less than a massive f*** up on WWE's part.

I know what you're saying,I'm happy that he won and look forward to seeing how his reign goes. But I have some serious problems seeing him beating Henry and Show, considering how much they've protected those two,I don't see Bryan getting a win cleanly unless they're SUPER serious about pushing him. They've pushed him terrible before the cash in(like Punk when he won his first titles),so I expect him to fall to midcard hell for a year after he looses his title.

I actually think they're gonna make him look strong now and gain momentum.
They actually see something in the guy. U.S. Title run, MITB victory, World Champ now.

If he does get pushed steadily, and does catch on with the crowd, then it was successful, regardless of how it got us there.

I have no idea why Daniel Bryan is world champion.
His entire WWE run has been decent but, he still isn't that over and never has been. It wasn't some grass roots thing like with Ryder where they responded to what the fans wanted. Bryan just kept getting shoved down people's throats and no one seems to be buying it.
Another problem is that he hasn't been around long enough. He's the latest victim of the WWE's "throwing shit against a wall and seeing what sticks" mentality they've had with main eventers. Sheamus, Del Rio, Swagger, etc. They randomly push someone and they either swim or sink back down to the midcard. Its a stupid approach that's done more harm than good and has devalued the world titles.
Bryan should still be in the IC/US title picture. A long feud with Cody would have been better for the US title to get him over.

Just remember before his main event run, Mark Henry was made to look like a joke and frequently jobbed cleanly to midcarders with no build.
I know there's the difference in appearance between Henry and Bryan, but even so, it doesn't take long to undo a previous jobbing streak.

Sorry but that's totally wrong, apparently you forgot about how Bryan was fired and it was like the biggest deal ever and a million people e-mailed WWE and there was a huge thread about it here. People were chanting for him in arenas while he wasn't working for the company as well, so it was a big deal both online and in the arenas. That's why he's gotten the push he has, the only things that don't make sense are the losing streak and the MITB cash-in, unless they're building up to a heel turn which I think might be the case.
