His reign will be worse than Swagger's.

I have no idea why Daniel Bryan is world champion. His entire WWE run has been decent but, he still isn't that over and never has been. It wasn't some grass roots thing like with Ryder where they responded to what the fans wanted. Bryan just kept getting shoved down people's throats and no one seems to be buying it. Another problem is that he hasn't been around long enough. He's the latest victim of the WWE's "throwing s*** against a wall and seeing what sticks" mentality they've had with main eventers. Sheamus, Del Rio, Swagger, etc. They randomly push someone and they either swim or sink back down to the midcard. Its a stupid approach that's done more harm than good and has devalued the world titles. Bryan should still be in the IC/US title picture. A long feud with Cody would have been better for the US title to get him over. Sorry but that's totally wrong, apparently you forgot about how Bryan was fired and it was like the biggest deal ever and a million people e-mailed WWE and there was a huge thread about it here. People were chanting for him in arenas while he wasn't working for the company as well, so it was a big deal both online and in the arenas. That's why he's gotten the push he has, the only things that don't make sense are the losing streak and the MITB cash-in, unless they're building up to a heel turn which I think might be the case. No; I didn't forget, but thanks for being condescending and assuming so. Of course there was a huge thread about it here, Bryan has a huge internet following. As for people chanting for him in the arenas, I remember there being some, but it wasn't anything huge, even on the same level of back when Matt Hardy was fired during the Edge/Lita stuff. Besides, that was over a year ago. The majority of Bryan's career in the WWE took place after he was already brought back. He had a good couple of months after his return but that doesn't translate to how he's doing now.

You mean he doesn't seem to be as over now that he's been called a nerd every week and booked to lose a bunch of matches? No kidding.
EDIT: Don't mind my tone, I've been sick and and frankly I feel like shit.

Yeah, I don't blame you whatsoever considering how the guy has been booked.
Ever since he lost the United States Championship it just seems like the guy has just been running in place. Even after he won Money in the Bank they never really did anything different with the guy. Instead of building him up as a potential challenger for the championship they just had him meander around the midcard as usual and endure the exact same parity booking they do with nearly everyone.
It's like when Jack Swagger was given Money in the Bank only months after he had been feuding with Santino of all people, not to mention being on the losing side of that a few times, and then they had him cash in the briefcase and expect you to take him seriously. It's just such lazy booking and it doesn't really work.
Compare that to when Edge first won the championship. I recall they had him winning pretty decisively for awhile when he first held it. And then when we went to cash it in on Cena you believed that he actually had a chance of pulling it off. Sure, he lost it in less than a month, but he still recovered from that because he still had credibility.
Daniel Bryan on the other hand really doesn't have much credibility. He's beaten The Miz, a former WWE Champion, and a few midcard guys, but that's about it. He hasn't really had an interesting storyline going for him since he first feuded with Miz for the United States Championship. I mean we know that's credible in the ring, but that can only take you so far when you constantly get beaten like a drum.
You can be the biggest badass in the world, but if your booking doesn't reflect that then chances are it's going to be extremely difficult for people to take you seriously.

It's strange to think but they gave him the World championship because they clealry have no faith in him. He'll be a midcarder by Wrestlemania and not the champion. The world/wwe titles have become such jokes they're being given away to almost everybody on the upper half of the roster as a way to keep them in the midcard but give people a reason to watch them.

Can't you just be happy that an IWC favorite is holding a major title in the WWE? Jeez Louise what will it take to make y'all stop whining?

Holding a major title that, out of WWE's own doing, people are saying he has no business holding? With an announcer that buries unrelentlessly because Vince McMahon has some vendetta against his fanbase?

I think being well booked and getting a fair chance to get over means a lot more to his fans than winning a major title that at the end of the day is pretty meaningless.

It's a shame his current challangers are people who pretty much guarantee his matchs will involve getting his ass kicked the whole time with no decisive wins.I will enjoy it while I can though.

I still love the guy as a talent, but he has been booked as shit his entire run. WWE is making even the biggest fans of the guy not care.

I agree with Bryan not getting much in the way of storylines leading up to this. For instance, why didn't they have Woi actually feud with him over the MITB briefcase? It's not like either one of them were doing anything of note beforehand besides having random matches with people and each other for no damn reason.
I wonder if WWE really has this logic that any guy holding their top title HAS to have credibility in some way just because...he has the title. The guy wouldn't have the title if he was a Geeky McLosernerd, right?

They need to keep him face, unlike what a lot of smarky fans want. Bryan as a heel will make ZERO sense when he's going up against The Big Show. If he's a heel, he can't be the underdog and his size makes it very unbelievable that he could have the upper hand against a guy like Show so easily.
I expect him to drop the title to Wade Barrett, maybe as early as the Rumble.

I expect him to drop the title to Wade Barrett, maybe as early as the Rumble. Well, of course he could be a heel underdog. Ever see the first Hell in a Cell match? Additionally, why would it have to be "so easily"? No, he couldn't get the upper hand easily. That's what makes it a fun matchup! Can a small guy take out a giant by his wits and submission techniques, avoiding the giant's overwhelming strength advantage? Not EASILY. In a hard-fought match where he takes a serious beating and is just crazy and spiteful enough to keep on ticking? Sure. I like the guy as a face or as a heel... I've got no dog in this fight. But I think it makes a lot more sense for a heel to get the advantage over a big face, since heels tend to be more willing to bend the rules.

Just 2 days ago I had a "convo" with a mark who works at Starbucks. I mean 100% Cena fan, hates all the bad guys, has a memory of 3-4 months of programming, etc. He hates Daniel Bryan and thinks he's a horrible wrestler.
All I could do was say to myself, "Good job WWE"

It should be pretty simple. Just make him a guy that kicks in heads and taps people out.
And does he HAVE to have a love interest at all times? The Bellas, Gail Kim, AJ. Just let him go out and murder people.

I'm not gonna speculate too much on his reign since it's pretty fresh, but I will concur that the buildup was terrible. However, I actually still have a bit of naivetyhope that the WWE can make this a decent reign.
