Yeah she said that she was done with pro wrestling, and if she ever returned it would only be for the E. But what else is there really out there for her to do? That designer clothing thing is never, ever going to work, and her artistic interests seem to be tied mostly to "sexy" modeling, which she's honestly passed the expiration date for (sorry lads; it doesn't matter how hot she is, but those skeezy publishers want them as young as possible). No, she's gone down the path of wrestling, and if she wants to be independently prosperous that's really the thing to stick with. Also, I could probably walk to this show, wherever it is. Then again, and I'm sorry, but I don't feel like shuffling over there just to see someone who I don't even know takes it seriously. The thing is, Maryse may be attractive for wrestling...but there is a big difference between looking good in wrestling and looking good for the wider audience/media is concerned. She's good-looking but she's a generic bleach blond spray tanned woman in LA. There are thousands of them, and many of the ones she's competing against are 10 to 5 years younger than her. Wrestling fans may know who she is, but what reason does anyone outside of wrestling have to care? They don't see her charisma in those sexy photographs she does--which aren't exactly high-end or high-paying ventures.

At the risk of sounding sexist, judging by the fact that all she seems to do is shop and go to fashion shows these days (per her twitter), I sort of got the impression she was living off The Miz these days.

I don't know what makes this sexist--but shouldn't she have been making at least a hundred thousand a year while with WWE--unless she's a moron it should be saved up and in an account somewhere...unless she routinely used up her paychecks every month as soon as she got them.

It's been mentioned before, but divas don't actually make huge amounts of money.Oh, they're better paid than the KOs obviously, but when you factor in travel expenses and how much it costs to keep them looking that good, they aren't making a fortune. Which is why so many girls do the indie/convention circuit after leaving.

I'd considered that, but I thought at least she had saved up some...then again I remember reading Mickie only got 40k a year when she started with WWE, and the highest paid women they ever had were Lita and Trish Stratus, who also got downpay + cuts of their merch sales. In fact, the reason why they even kept Lita on TV while she was injured in '05 was because they were paying her too damned much to let her sit at home. But yea, I do remember reading that Stacy barely made enough to break even, and with Maryse's surgeries it's doubtful she ever saved up much at all unless she was a real miser--and apparently she isn't known for living that way... So I guess you're right!

You have to pay for your own health insurance unless you're one of the top guys, like Edge, Cena, Taker or Orton. *I'm basing my knowledge on an interview with Stephanie McMahon--she said it would be "unfair" of them to require their employees to use insurance provided by WWE, and their wrestlers are independent contractors, so they are under no obligation to pay for their surgeries or travel expenses.

From what I've heard, if you're injured in a match they take care of the bills, anything else is on the wrestlers.

And that's very true--at the end of the day, Maryse is just a skin mag model who got lucky enough to get noticed by WWE and hired, never seemed to take wrestling seriously, and when you're an actress, even when what you're doing is wrestling, when you act like it kind of doesn't matter, are people in studios going to think that you're worth working with? Her whole fashion line is going to be doomed. She's not a real designer and she doesn't have some kind of artistic background. She's just showing up with a bunch of goods and hawking them on name recognition, which isn't going to really be there. That is to say, besides wrestling-related stuff, just what is she going to do?

Agreed 100%. It reminds of Sable when she left in 1999. "I've got this in the works, I've got that in the works". She ended up doing nothing, and 4 years later, she was back in WWE. I noticed that Maria has increased her wrestling bookings after not doing many and will soon be having her first match since leaving WWE. That's really the smartest thing she could do it she wants to keep her name out there. Someone in this thread said that Maryse was fired. Was that ever confirmed? I would think that as Miz's girlfriend, they would avoid releasing her unless she really pissed off the wrong person or she wanted to leave. I can't see her being the victim of budget cuts or "creative has nothing for you."

She said she was happy to go/threw a party, and then said it was Vince McMahon's loss. She was cleared to return since late August but was never seen back. It's possible Creative was hesitating because of the Miz and finally just decided to release her and take their chances. It's unclear.

I never got the impression that Maryse hated being a pro-wrestler at all Whenever she did her Sexy Pose entrance, it looked like she was having the time of her life in the squared circle. Either she's a really good actress (LOL) or she actually loved working for the WWE before her injury.
It's how she met Miz, if she hated wrestling so much why would she start dating one of the most annoying wrestlers on the WWE roster?
In any case, I'm pretty amused that this is yet another example of an ex-WWE Superstar Canadian lying about making a wrestling return on Twitter. She and Jericho have swerved us all.

Hating being a wrestler and not taking it seriously are two very different things. You can enjoy what you do for a living but not really care about it either way.

did anyone else read this as "Maryse Breaks Wind"? Some people are just immature. Honestly, I don<t really car eif she is back into wrestling, she wasn't reslly into it, plus she wasn't even good in the ring. I guess she still wants to be close to her boyfriend.

She was probably ticked off that she was fired, felt bitter about it at the time, and has since mellowed. AHAHAHAHAHA, WHAT A LOSER, HAVING TO MAKE MONEY AFTER SHE GOT FIRED. Serves her right for not being independently wealthy! I don't know, kinda seems like kicking the gal when she's down. I don't think it's kicking her while she's down. Unless she's living exorbitantly, she should be fine with however much her boyfriend is making, unless they pay him in hair gel and Trident Layers. Fixed. No one ever pays me in gum.

To be fair, Lesnar & Lashley dabbled back into wrestling while trying to get into what they wanted to do.
